I created this 16×20 inch original oil from a beautiful sunset evening at Cheney Reservoir a few miles west of Wichita, Kansas. This area had flooded due to so much rainfall last spring, thus enhancing the watery beauty of the place. Comments or critiques welcome. Painting available for sale. Commissions taken.

Bush and Cheney. 12×16” Pen and ink, charcoal and eggshells on canvas board. In this piece, Cheney is partly made of eggshells which I used to show his frailty in mind and in body. Our administration does so much damage in the name of God and country. The populace in the lower portion is disfigured, without hope and without justice in this world. Text is from a sermon by Jonathan Edwards entitled “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God (1741): Your wickedness makes you as it were heavy as lead, and to tend downwards with great weight and pressure towards hell; and if God should let you go, you would immediately sink and swiftly descend and plunge into the bottomless gulf, and your healthy constitution, and your own care and prudence, and best contrivance, and all your righteousness, would have no more influence to uphold you and keep you out of hell, than a spider’s web would have to stop a falling rock. Were it not for the sovereign pleasure of God, the earth would not bear you one moment; for you are a burden to it; the creation groans with you… There are the black clouds of God’s wrath now hanging directly over your heads, full of the dreadful storm, and big with thunder; and were it not for the restraining hand of God, it would immediately burst forth upon you… there is nothing but the mere pleasure of God, that holds the waters back, that are unwilling to be stopped, and press hard to go forward. If God should only withdraw his hand from the flood-gate, it would immediately fly open, and the fiery floods of the fierceness and wrath of God, would rush forth with inconceivable fury, and would come upon you with omnipotent power…The bow of God’s wrath is bent, and the arrow made ready on the string, and justice bends the arrow at your heart, and strains the bow, and it is nothing but the mere pleasure of God, and that of an angry God, without any promise or obligation at all, that keeps the arrow one moment from being made drunk with your blood… Also inspired by NIN/Year Zero, specifically the track Capital G. 18×24” oil painting on canvas. I am unhappy with our current administration. I see Cheney as the Puppetmaster of his New American Century, and Bush is a dangerous, blindfolded dummy. Everything we do is watched, monitored, wiretapped, and under surveillance (hence the large eyeball). Meanwhile, we’re fighting a war that should never have been started. I see Cheney as Death.

I’m the newest fan of the watchmen. It’s amazing how some things go by unnoticed. Then one day you stumble across them and discover how freaking awesome they are. In celebration i made myself a shirt to wear with a quote from Rorschach. “Watchmen are over.What do you suggest we do about it?” / “Retribution.” If you are looking for a shirt to buy, i would recommend one made by someone who actually has talent such as this guy. We always read a bedtime story to Molly. She was particularly interested / in this election reflected in my photograph of Mikey and Molly titled / Political Dogs. Although Goodnight Bush is a parody, Molly’s troubled expression reflects the serious message of her bedtime story. She hopes that we can finally say goodnight to the disaster that characterized the last eight years of theBush administration. / Goodnight Bush is a brilliant parody of the children’s / classic bedtime story, Goodnight Moon. A childlike / George Bush is tucked safely away in / the confines of his own room with all the toys he has willfully destroyed. Dick Cheney is portrayed as / a quiet figure whispering “hush” to the misguided President. / Many parents, teachers or those in contact with young children / or in our case, our three year old Irish Setter, Molly / also treasure the original book that is / often one of the first bedtime stories that parents read / to their children and pass through the generations. / The author of the original book, Goodnight Moon / gave the authors the freedom / to copy the illustrations and include the colors and / details that has made Goodnight Moon an enduring classic / for young children learning to read. I have read this book / many times and every time I find another detail / that keeps me laughing. For those who have missed some / of the calamities of the Bush administration, this satiric book / is so tragically funny and insightful that you will want to / read it again. It is hard to make a nightmare funny, / but the authors made me laugh out loud / to release the outrage I have felt for the past eight years. Laughter / is a great relief after enduring the endless list of tragic events / that characterized the Bush administration. This should be / required reading for outraged and stressed Americans. Hopefully / we can now relax and feel hope once again for the future of our / country and hope that we can finally / restore our reputation around the world after eight years of / enduring the destruction of the American spirit. / I also plan to show some of the amazing illustrations / for those who have not heard of / or read this insightful and amazing parody.
