Another in my series of photos depicting Atlanta’s Icons. The King and Queen Towers, as they are known locally if unofficially, are actually part of the suburban landscape, visible from both the I-285 perimeter and Georgia 400 expressway, they stand in the city of Sandy Springs. They have the distinction of being the tallest suburban buildings in the USA.
Photoshop work, created out of image below, only outside sources were used for the sky. Was tricky to rebuild the empty fields out of this filled chessboard. Hope you like it!
Me and my son are playing this chess and at the same time eating this grapes, suddenly one green grape fall down on the top of chess board… then something comes up on my mind…so this is that something!

If there is an explanation for this, I suppose it is that I tend to be more of a whole-brained thinker. I know it’s hard to tell, but, even when I have only half a mind, I am still using 1/4 of each side lol So, I love the softness, disorder, wafting things .. and I love the rigid lines, order, mathematics of a well formed cube, etc. I tend to love them best, together, bouncing from one thing to the other. I suppose this is what also makes me an extremist, and it is not, after all, my Scottish ancestry. Which is fine by me, as, to the best of my knowledge, I haven’t any Scottish ancestry, so I amn’t sure why people would think that was the cause of it. Oh, sure, there is that whole ‘Peace or War’ thing, but, hey: who died and made them the Quibble Sheriffs of the world? No, seriously. I want to know: who? Back to reality, my main point is that I had nothing in mind, particularly, upon the creation of this, but such things as “Oh my, this would look good near this, if it could intersect just so and be colored like thus!” Some things were painting, some things were copied images utilized in layers, some things were done by mask, etc. All of it was oodles and oodles of fun and I shall, yes, stare at it off and on and be in awe of it and wish I could create something half so lovely. I know .. I did. Tell me that!
Inspired to pull out the chess set by the writing competition in the Short Stories group, Checkmate.
This was a commissioned work for a play in which an old black man plays the devil for his soul. The hardest part was figuring out a checkmate (by the devil), but this man believes in the LORD and if one knows chess, you will see that he has a move out of checkmate in which he actually is able to put the devil in checkmate. / The man who posed for this is actually a chess player on the chess board and in the spiritual realm as well.

_The old gray bench provides three friends the necessary resting place to come together over a game of chess. It is not a particularly comfortable seat, but they are unaware of that. The man on the inside far left is about to make a move. The elderly man on the right is deep in thought. I am standing about four feet away with my camera pointed towards them. They are as yet unaware of me. I know I need to take the shot soon before the light changes, or one of them notices me._
