Genesis 9:12-14 (New King James Version) 12. And God said: “This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: 13. I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. 14. It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; / God’s Promise to Noah, after The Great Flood !! Pentax istDS Camera The Covenant / Author: martin steinbrugger Having once beheld His glory shinning down from above… / My drought stricken life is now as a reservoir, / Constantly being renewed with God’s love. There’s only a remnant here and there of my barren past… / For behold God’s promise to heal and renew, / Is most certainly coming too pass. Water of life overflowing my soul… / Bringing forth the blessing and joy of knowing, / It is not I, but God who is in control. Covenant blessing under His bow shall I kneel… / For it is by His stripes and His stripes alone, / That my wounded soul has been healed. Another rather sad and disturbing indication of the severity of the current drought that is ravaging the countryside and farms of Australia. Rusty Lakebed / Author: martin steinbrugger Many times life can seem like a thirsty barren land… / As though all our hopes and dreams, / Are little more than rusty grains of sand. Parched by disappointment time and time again… / Without hope life is but a severe drought, / That seems to have no end. Like clouds looming on the horizon withholding their rain… / So too, unless we let go of our past, / We can never be healed from all our pain. Apart from God we are as trees without water, / Destined too whither and die… / For God is the source of our eternal hope, / Through whom all life is meant to thrive! Inspired by Phil Thomson’s photo “Rusty Lakebed”
The little jetty, trees and shoreline, just below the Charlemont homestead are all mirrored in the waters of Thompsons Creek, in the stillness of the morning, just after dawn.

Psalm 23: 2-3 A Psalm of David. / / 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; / He leads me beside the still waters. / 3 He restores my soul; / He leads me in the paths of righteousness / For His name’s sake. Evening on Thompson’s Creek at Charlemont.

Sunset at the site of the old homestead at Charlemont sheep station, near Geelong Inspired by the words of the old Hymn: The day Thou gavest, Lord, is ended, / The darkness falls at Thy behest; / To Thee our morning hymns ascended, / Thy praise shall sanctify our rest. We thank Thee that Thy church, unsleeping, / While earth rolls onward into light, / Through all the world her watch is keeping, / And rests not now by day or night. As o’er each continent and island / The dawn leads on another day, / The voice of prayer is never silent, / Nor dies the strain of praise away. The sun that bids us rest is waking / Our brethren ’neath the western sky, / And hour by hour fresh lips are making / Thy wondrous doings heard on high. So be it, Lord; Thy throne shall never, / Like earth’s proud empires, pass away: / Thy kingdom stands, and grows forever, / Till all Thy creatures own Thy sway. The lyrics were inspired by Psalm 42:8
