  • I bought a t shirt from a charity shop about fifteen years ago which said this. It’s so cheesy but I loved it. I can’t buy one anywhere so I’ve re-created it! I’m not an electrician by the way…

  • So after my grisly death last week, Mrs. Flibble had a go at sticking back my shredded body with some domestic strength wood glue. Apparently it took her quite a while, and she tells me she only had a few bits left over. I think she did a pretty good job, although I’ve yet to try out all bodily functions. Anyway. After a quick jump-start I was left with the arduous task of recharging my brain back up to 30 percent. Any more than that and things can go horribly wrong. You wouldn’t like to see me when I’m 31 percent, let alone 32. Splendid. A couple of points of note: This photo was excruciatingly painful to make. I really did clamp that clip to my ear and it has a mighty strong spring. Lit with two flashes: main was from above camera left through an umbrella and second was from bottom right reflected off something spangly for a bit of fill. Wide-angle lens about 15cm from gurning idiot. Blog: www.idrinkleadpaint.com

  • This photo shows a large herd of wild horses on the Danube Delta, in Romania, charging directly at me. Well, there was no where to run so I kept shooting and they turned before trampling us. I didn’t notice that they’d scared up a pheasant while charging until I saw the photos afterwards! This herd is descended from a domestic herd which was let loose from a failed farm about 9 years ago, our guide told us. There are about 130 or so horses in it now. The field they’re in used to be a lake until the local government gave permission for it to be turned into a fish farm to a local businessman; instead of cultivating anything, he drained it, collected and sold the fish left flopping, and then left. Now it’s just pastureland. Between feral animals like the horses and land management practices like that, the Danube delta is a seriously endangered environment.

Hey y’all! I am slowly sticking my toe into the portrait photography pool and am hoping for some feedback and advice before I really dive in. I have already spoken to a few friends regarding this but would like to hear from more. I would love to know what people charge for their services. Do you charge per hour. Do you do a flat rate presenting the client with a disk of a certain amount of images. Do you have package prices? I have been asked to do a wedding in June and have been asked by others to do family portraits and I am feeling a bit overwhelmed by what to charge. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance for your time :) / I’ve added some lovely music to listen to while (hopefully!) reading through all of the adivice I am going to receive ;) Peace…..........
