  • Rymill Winery, Coonawarra – cork in waiting. The grapes were ready, the cork and cork screw just lay in wait!!!! Lucky enough to have our second ever Exhibition starting in this magnificent winery as of tomorrow 16/5/08. Sharing again with Smarti77 with 32 images on display. See www.rymill.com.au for views of the stunning winery complex.

  • Black and white of early morning dew on the rose.

  • An amazing still day on the bay at Portland Victoria – huge billowing clouds coming in ahead of the wind creating the opportunity for a reflective image!

  • War Memorial, North Terrace Adelaide late at night. An outstanding tribute to those brave men and women who fought for this Country!

  • Something completely different for me. Rained here today and a car left the car park dripping large volumes of oil from underneath. As it went these coloured patterns appeared in large circles throughout the car park. Colours were amazing and only lasted a short time until heavy rain eventually washed them away, probably into our drinking water somewhere…......

  • Heavy rains at last – but taking top soil and silt with it as it flows across a small waterfall at Currency Creek, Fleurieu, South Australia. A powerful stretch of water but very brown in colour!! Shot with a Canon 400D, 2 second exposure, 18-55 lens with ND4 filter.

  • Last light – Mannum South Australia, looking across the mighty Murray River. Shot taken between Mannum and Younghusband standing amongst willows and surrounded by beautiful water birds. Still plenty of water in this stretch to wet the imagination and see tremendous sights at sunrise and sunset. Many thanks to David and Wendy at the Mannum Motel for their help locating the best sites for images along this section of the river. They now run photography tour packages and I found it a great way to spend a couple of days recently.

  • A second image of the bromelliad found hiding in shadows in gardens at Crystal Caste near Mullumbimby NSW. Amazing little flower with great colours.

  • Late afternoon light pushing through the trees surrounding the waterway heading down alongside Gorge Road in Adelaide. A beautiful place with incredible calmness. Best viewed large…...

  • A small flower with petals still covering the flower heart. Delicate and beautiful after an early morning rain.

  • Old run down slat walled building on the outskirts of Mannum South Australia. A stunning piece of history left to decay in the weather. Canon 400D – 18 – 55 with Polarising filter – converted in B&W in Photoshop CS3.

  • Large Radiata Pines being harvested in the Limestone Coast region of South Australia. Marked with numbers relating to their size and due to be turned into all manner of things…......’Death by Numbers’....... The good news here is that they come from established plantations that will be re established within the next few months ensuring future growth. Canon 400D 18/55 2 shot HDR merge processed in Photomatix.

  • Trying out a borrowed Canon 100 macro lens today in preparation for the purchase of a dedicated macro lens. Plenty of activity in the garden after recent rains and now some nice balmy pre summer weather. Have you ever noticed that you never see an unhappy bee? Bee Happy…. Canon 400D with 100 Canon macro lens.

  • Stark dark clouds coming in over drought affected land between Pinnaroo and Loxton in South Australia. Not a drop fell but it gave the sense of impending rains much needed in that area. The Barb you see is actually the top strand on the original normal stock fence that has been covered over by drifting sands. A new one has been put up behind it.. Quite a scary sight. Just what is happening to our earth??? Nature reclaiming the land? Canon 400D 18-55 lens processed in PS3. HDR originally merged in Photomatix.

  • Just had to post this. Spotted yesterday at Milang in South Australia, someone giving out Christmas cheer – using their used undies and the clothesline…. Some people have the ability to make others days with such simple gestures. This made mine!!!! Congrats to whomever it was….

  • Three shot HDR taken late this afternoon inside the old Cellulose Paper Mill between Millicent and Mt Gambier in the Limestone Coast region of South Australia. The Mill is slowly being renovated section by section by the new owners and becoming home to a range of industries. This section is still untouched and is as it was when the macinery was taken away. Canon 400D – 18-55 HDR processed in Photomatix.

  • Late afternoon at Rainbow Rocks, Southend, Limestone Coast, South Australia. BEST VIEWED LARGE. Canon 400D 18-55 with ND 4 and CIR Polarising filters. Converted to B&W in Photoshop CS3.

  • A gentle and delicate trio of small flowers hanging down in this mornings mist in the garden. Canon 400D Sigma 70 – 300 macro, hand held. Processed in Photoshop CS3 raw converter.

  • Again another early visit to the river banks at Mannum in South Australia. There is so much talk about the lack of water in the River Murray yet it still flows and there is plenty to do and see along it’s length. Early morning sunrise HDR with wonderful cloud lines floating down the river. If your interested in river photography see my journal entry re an upcoming photography river cruise from mannum in June. Canon 400D 18 -55 with polarising filter. Three shot HDR converted in photomatix. My apologies to all of those who have visited lately. I have been away with work and will shortly start getting back to you all regarding your recent comments and visits.

  • Local Kimberley Clark Australia Mill in the crisp night air before the fog settled tonight. Between Millicent and Tantanoola in the Limestone Coast. Light and shadows created near the front gates. Canon 400D 18 -55 lens.

  • Second shot in a series: In Mount Gambier tonight waiting for the start of the Mount Gambier Photography Groups meeting at the Old Town Hall building when three lads rode past on their pushbikes. As they pulled wheel-stands and tricks the ground inset lighting threw large shadows along the wall of the heritage listed building. The lads were good enough to pass through time and time again for us so they we could get a range of images with a difference. Canon 400D – fixed 50 1.8 lens. Converted to B&W in Photoshop CS3.

  • Small jetty and boat-shed at Nelson on the Glenelg river in Victoria South Australia. Property of the ‘River Vu’ caravan park. A dull and cloudy day with rain and wind made for a successful black and white conversion of a three shot HDR – converted in Photomatix. Canon 400D 17-85 lens with three shot HDR hand held.

  • Taking shots of the Railway Bridge crossing the mighty River Murray at Murray Bridge South Australia. Thanks to Dave Hartley from the Mannum Motel who went with me on the night and helped me get this shot. For a better image with a wide angle lens see his image. Interesting outcome here with a slight hint of flow on the river and the yellow feel created by tungsten lighting off the nearby bridge. No moon helped create the reflective image which is rarely seen like this. My apologies to everyone who has been visiting recently and leaving comments, I have been away on holidays and with work for over three weeks now so will try and catch up on all of your images soon. Prefer not to tell people I’ll be away as you never know who’s out here on RB so often you will not hear from me for some time when work is as busy as it is at the moment. This image shot with a Canon 400D – 17-85 lens.

  • Watching an amazing lightning show tonight as it passed through between Beachport and Millicent in the Limestone Coast. If you view this large you will see small red dots at the bottom of the strike – they are the tower lights on the Wind-farm nearby at Canunda. Canon 400D 17-85 lens. Two second exposure.
