Coloured pencils & Gold Art Pen on paper. This Mandala was created over many months; a process of adding form and colour grew from a desire to “put some pieces back together” in my life. .. It became a piece I could return to when the feeling arose, a gradual shift of focus onto the glorious, bright and colourful parts of my life. I call it a clown chakra as that is how I imagine mine might look! Traditionally, chakras relate to the energy centres within a person, whereby the life force flows through. Ascension is about love and its power. Anahata is the chakra located in the heart region. iI has 12 petals and it is connected to the capacity of loving deeply and also to the feelings of compassion and empathy. It is generally depicted in the color green, but in my mind it appeared in luminous yellow with hints of red. It is through the anahata chakra that we can contact universal love. It is the main point of contact to the so-called “inner Christ” and the upper planes. Other symbols I used to represent the same concept are the water, running upward in a straight blue stripe across the picture, and the fish. The fish is connected to the Pisces sign and also to the primitive Christianity message. Both symbols are related to universal love and compassion. The skull means that loves transcends even death, and leads to a deep transformation. It also has the meaning of the XIII arcane, Death – things that die to give place to other ones, a deeply alchemical experience. The upper figure is representative of a state of ecstasy and bliss conduced by deeply spiritual experiences. When we are able to achieve a full state of love, even for brief moments, we feel like we are connected to something bigger and higher. Experiencing love is also a totally libertarian thing, which I wanted to show through the hawk with open wings emerging from all the violet at the top. It’s only through love that we can transcend our material condition and achieve perfect happiness and fulfillment.

Chakras and Vibration Everything moves, from atoms to planets millions of light years away. Electrons move around the nucleus of an atom. Planets revolve around their suns. That is why the use of color and sound can return balance to our Chakras causing restored health. / The Key To Health and Healing. Chakras are associated with our physical, mental and emotional states. When energy does not flow freely from the Chakras, the body does not function properly. We need to reestablish the free flow of energy in order to heal. The key to health is for our 7 Chakras to be in balance. Through stress of any kind, physical, emotional, psychological, our Chakras can become unbalanced or out of tune. Ommmm .. Sound and Vibrations.. This mandala is representative of the medicine of BEAR, which for Native American peoples, is considered (along with the wolf) as one of the last true symbols of the primal, natural world, and many ecologists believe that how humans respond and protect their lands and their future will be the most honest depiction of how serious humanity is about preservation of our environment and the natural resources within it. Also, the bear is considered kin to himans, because, like birds, it can stand and walk upon two legs. / Bear teaches us to go within and awaken the potentials inherent and bring them to the world and apply them. Introspection that makes accomplishing goals and dreams that we carry come to fruition. Becoming like BEAR and entering the safety of the womb-cave, we must attune ourselves to the energies of the Eternal Mother (Earth), and receive nourishment from the Great Void (unconscious/universe), where all solutions and answers live in harmony with the questions that fill our realities. / Each and every being has the capacity to quiet the mind, enter the silence and KNOW. / Bear resides in the West of the medicine wheel, symbolic of our intuitive/feminine side or right brain and to hibernate, bear travels within the four lobes where the pineal gland resides (lying just under the pituitary gland, behind the eyes, highly responsive to light waves)also resonating our Crown Chakra, the control center for the effective functioning of our physical, emotional and mental selves. / This also links us to our faith, attitudes, beliefs, values, conscious, courage and humanitarianism. This level and power abandons intellect and EGO to the power of passionate experience and “knowing”. / Bear medicine is ultimately knowing yourself ~ your body, mind and spirit ~ using your strengths to overcome your weaknesses, whilst knowing also that both are necessary in our evolution. Drawing photographed and edited, colored with wacom pen in photoshop 7 with redfield plug-in fractilius filter and coloring adjustments to finalize.
