Well I will fill you in on the size of Wilmington to start. Wilmington is a small rural town in the Flinders Rangers in South Australia. Mainly farming families, but with the seasons not being on the goodside a lot of the farmers have now started to get work else were. We also have quite a few people who live here and work in Port Augusta (our closest large town ) or Roxby Downs. / The town has one pub, a general store, butcher shop, post office, hardware store, and my husband and I own the local garage. / Wilmington over the years is very involved in sport, we have golf club, tennis club, lawn bowls, with our towns, joint cricket, joint tennis & joint netball teams. / We have a local night rodeo once a year in January. / The local Progress Society has become active in organising events through out the year, We have Australia day breakfast, ANZAC Day Dawn service, Yard dog trails, and Christmas Carols are the main events each year. The progress has also a little craft shop that is open during the tourist seanson by voluntees for a few hours each weekend and they sell local crafts. We also have our local CFS brigade, which my husband, Geoff & I are very involved with. Geoff has just been voted Captain of the brigade for another 2 years. (well it wasn’t much of a vote he was nominatted and everyone in the room raised their hands and said I before Geoff could say anything he was voted in again!) He has been captain since 2002 so I think everyone agrees he is doing a great job. / We have training once a month and as you can tell be some of my photos we do do some very hands on training. / The CFS has also been getting involved in more actives outside of fire fighting. Last christmas 5 of us performed a skit at the christmas carols. We had mad a wooden fire truck cut out and came out to the kids song “hooley dooleys – Fire Truck Song” I was the driver and we had 4 guys dressed in some cfs skirts we have had made, so while they we in the truck it looked like they were dressed in normal outfits until they came out and had to resuce the cat stuck in the tree and started jumping around in little skirts. The crowd loved it and everyone keeps asking what we are doing this year ! Does anyone have any good ideas Something easy, not involing, singing, or dancing (too much) maybe a fire fighter or fire truck theme or christmas theme ? Any ideas would be great ! We also have coming up is our Annual agricultural & hoticultural show next month. / The CFS aslo competes in the Keg Barrel Roll and last year we had to teams, first year we had a all girls team and then the guys team won last year ( they came second the year before) mind you our guys team had members that were between 30 and 60 years of age competing against 18 year olds, so they did realy well. Our show is very small, it is a one day event which has a lot of horse events, it also has a lot of other sections that are juged, Wool, Caged birds, Poultry, Pigeons, Ag produce, Fruit & Veg produce, Dairy produce, flora, needlework, handicraft & hobbies, Cookery & preserves, PHOTOGRAPHY, Restored Vehicles & Machinery, -Junior – School work, Art & hobbies & Pets. The main thing I am interested in is the photography even though I have never realy entered anything before this year I am going to try ! My Kids are busy getting all their entries ready, Rebecca is going to enter some of her photos in the Junior Photography section (even though the section is for high school she is going to try against them ) / Rebecca has a site on Red bubble, her Dad spends time to help her put the photos on it is great time for them to spend together. / Some of the classes in the photography section are 1. Landscape / 2. Seascape / 3. Sunrise or Sunset / 4. Child Study / 5. Animal or Birdlife / 6. Study of flowers 7. People any size over 15cm x 13cm / 8. Scenery any size over 15cm x 13cm / 9. Senery Panoramic at the moment I have only just figured how to set my camera for panoramic so I haven’t got any of those but I am having trouble trying to fit some photos I want to enter into the classes. my house fire photos which class can I enter them into any ideas ? I will try and link some of my other photos I want to enter any coments would be greatly appreciated ! Would we class this as animal or bird life ? / / This is some of my child study / / I have this printed 21cm x 14.5cm for people any size /
finally i found some time to upload some New York stuff, / here the first one, shot in East Village, probaly the coolest neighborhood in New York. Camera was the Hasselblad 500 c/m, Lens Zeiss CF 80 2.8 at, i think, f/5.6 on Kodak Portra NC400 (the new one). Scanned with an Epson V700. / Was the first time to go on tour just with the Hassy, because i got my meter a day before, i stood there, with almost no guess about how to use it, but as you can see, it worked (and a guy asked me what the thing in my hand is, i aswered “its a lightmeter” he said ” oh how professional” i made a strange face and said ” jeah, at least it looks professional, i´m not quite sure how to use it” we went away with a grin on our faces..
Pastel on paper one of quite a few pieces on paper which I used to concentrate on shapes only when I first became very ill and trying to function on getting through the debilitating brain fog from CFS the fog has gone , most of the pain has gone but the dysfunction remains most days. The native vegetation on South Australia’s Kangaroo Island makes for a spectacular sight whilst we were conducting back burning operations last year.

I’ve just been constantly worn out, and pushing myself to get anything done ! Then, along comes this article, as chastisement: Oh, and when you read things on ME or CFS, kindly include, in your mind, Fibromyalgia, as, in most respects, it is the same thing. And, where it diverges for some people is a matter of great debate. I had the Epptein Barre virus and went through all the symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and never recovered. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, over 20 years after the symptoms started getting realy bad! So, don’t assume large differences, because the symptoms are mostly the same for the different diagnosis anyway, and for some people they are exactly the same! Well, as much as anyone with these problems can be said to have exactly the same symptoms! Rest, Pacing, and Stress for ME/CFS-laden people. Good advice in it. Glad that I did not just bookmark it, on my way to going and doing 15 other things, but that I took the time to slow down and read it. Gosh, don’t I sound so fast paced and accomplished? Hah! Truth is, I usually get a big whopping load of nothing done, on most days. Which is one of the points of the article! Here’s another great article, I say even though I haven’t finished reading it yet, which would be good for both the persons actually having ME/CFS and the people who work, love, or live with them to read up on. If I am on your watchlist, by the way, you count! ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome 101 Happy reading! Me, I’m going to go lay down for a bit! Doctor’s orders!
