This photograph goes back to my ‘old’ film days. The film , in this case, was Tri-x rated at ISO-400. I spent several weekends ‘stalking’ this lovely lady. She would be in the park every Sunday spending most of her time feeding the pigeons. Finally, after several attempts I found the one frame which satisfied me. It’s a world in microcosm. This photograph also took honorable mention in the 27th Annual Photography Contest in the spring of ‘07 by Serbin Publications who publish Photographer’s Forum Magazine. What helps to make it noteworthy is that this photograph had to ‘climb’ over more than 20,000 entries to get into the top 100 to be considered for placement.

The Finke river one of the worlds oldest river systems flowed once again this summer. A cloudy sky and the perfect amount of light to record both the shadows and highlights in the range made this a great day for photography. Glen Helen is a spot that I rarely get to shoot because of a limited amount of time and a desire to take part in a tonic lime and bitters at the bar. Once full rock pools are slowly drying up in the intense heat of summer. Before they do dry up these pools are teaming with both animal and plant life. Some of the more note worthy are fish up to 20cm long many species of frogs and blooming algae.
