Hand drawn, 2B pencil. Inspired from the book “An Imaginary Life” by David Malouf. This is a dream of Centaurs that Ovid had. This is almost the last of the series from “An Imaginary Life”. This of the Centaurs meant a lot to me, i had a dream of a Centaur several years ago, one of my all time favorite dreams. When i have illustrations for my dream i will post it one day. i thank you again Paul (Compton) for the recommendation of this gem of a book

For the next challenge for the group Fine Arts Influenced by Literature. The book this time is “An Imaginary Life” by David Malouf. It is a factual & fictional tale of Ovid. He is cast out of Rome & goes to live with the Natives in a place called Tomis. He has a dream of Centaurs. Then later finds a child who has been raised by Deer. He captures The Child & keeps him for a time. Read the book to see what happens. All is hand drawn, 2B pencil i have always been intrigued by children raised by Animals, from fiction (Tarzan & Mowgli are my favorites) to factual. If i could live several lives over again i would love to be raised by Wolves in one life, by Tarzan’s Great Apes in another, and so on

this was my take on a tutorial in Photoshop Creative Magazine, again I veered away from the tutorial and went off on my own tangent :-) the background is Mont St. Michel in France, the horse was the stock photo supplied by the magazine, the sky is a sunset of mine turned sideways and stormified :-), the rocks are courtesy of a google search and I can’tr remember where from the model is again the Angel, Love ‘N’ Laughter Kriss En Famille Featured in Bits and Pieces many thanks to the hosts, Sally Omar, Carlotta Peacock, FlowersEtc and Gail Bridger / / many thanks to WendyL and Keith R. Hylonome the centauress at play with Cyllarus…sort of catch me if you can;) / / Hylonome was the wife of Cyllarus centaur in Greek Mythology. / Her name means “browser of the wood” When Cyllarus was killed, Hylonome unable to bear the grief, threw herself down onto the same spear that had killed her beloved. Kelly dolls make the cutest little Centaurs! I like to make them from Barbies but Kelly and her friends are just as fun to turn into them. They all hang out in my Barbie Fairy Forest of Centaurs and other mythical ladies. / This is not actually Kelly but can’t remember which Kelly friend it is, maybe a Marissa. I rerooted the tail in bright red with a matching red strip in her hair, which is done up. I felt in a feathery mood while making her and I think she came up a fun little addition to my Fairy Forest. These are easy and creative for little girls to make.
