The weekend away was shocking weather wise and cut short by one day. I created a series of the cement works at Geelong on the way back and will display more as the weeks go on. The power lines that dissect the Western Plains caught my eye. They cut across the Western Highway in a couple of places they make them super accessible for a small lens. Enjoy.

Just wanted to thank the wonderfully talented Dave Aarons For purchasing a pic I took of cement creek. I met Dave briefly down at the bubble meet at Powlett River before I had to take my kids home, thanks again Dave really appreciated. Trav

I was on the bub for 6 months before I sold my first card (thanks Mar ) but things seem to be selling quite regularly now. I always find it amazing when someone appreciates a work enough to purchase it and put it on their wall so heartfelt thanks to everyone that has. This week I sold: A mounted print of Would you build a desal plant here . 100% of profits on this one were to go to the your water your say action group that was fighting the desal plant but when costs were awarded against them on the court battle they fought to do just that they were forced to close. Their websites still up though so I’ll make enquiries and make sure it goes to the right place. Calendar sales are continueing to go well. Basically I bought a whole heap to show around so people could actually see what they’re getting. I’ve almost covered my cost price now and figure whatever is left over will be good for chrissy presents. This week I sold another Sunrise – Sunset: The Prom 2009 my first Mt Buffalo 2009 calendar Another Australian Alps 2009 Another Prom 2009 horizontal and my first Victorian Waterfalls 2009 and also got a few features: Sunburst over Mt Feathertop and the Niggerheads was featured in Seasonal Scapes and Alpine Australia (yes I’m the mod for alpine australia but forgive me for an occassional indulgence) Cement Creek was featured in ALL COUNTRIES – Streams, Brooks, Creeks, Rivers, Ponds & Lakes Speaking of which this sunday there is a rally in Warburton to protest the planned logging of this beautiful water catchment area. Details can be found here Thanks as always Trav

A tale of surreality and evolution. 6.14am, I’m propped up in my bed in North Hobart Tasmania with the laptop and a damn fine wireless connection surfing the bub. My window is open to let the beautiful fresh air/day in and I’ve realised that sometimes I actually like the traffic noise. The man across the road runs a hire company and is playing an Elvis CD that is booming across the neighbourhood as he puts cement mixers and whipper snippers on display for the day. A year ago I didn’t know what red bubble was. A year and a bit ago I lived on the big island of Australia, not the good little one. Five years ago I didn’t know how computers talked to modems without wires and stuff. Fifteen years ago I barely knew what the internet was and couldn’t see where e-mails fitted into the scheme of things. Thirty years ago a whipper snipper would have been someone saying whipper snapper incorrectly. Sixty five years ago the king was yet to be crowned.
