Soaring to a celestial kingdom, Heaven cries for all of those who will never open their eyes, never see love, never know true happiness…. Heaven’s Cry took 7 hours, which is about 3 hours longer than my average amount of time on a piece of work….the wings alone took 3 hours….pencil on bristol board, i am very happy with the results….

“O my Father, thou that dwellest / In the high and glorious place, / When shall I regain thy presence / And again behold thy face? / In thy holy habitation, / Did my spirit once reside? / In my first primeval childhood / Was I nurtured near thy side?” / / “For a wise and glorious purpose / Thou hast placed me here on earth / And withheld the recollection / Of my former friends and birth; / Yet ofttimes a secret something / Whispered, “You’re a stranger here,” / And I felt that I had wandered / From a more exalted sphere.” / / “I had learned to call thee Father, / Thru thy Spirit from on high, / But, until the key of knowledge / Was restored, I knew not why. / In the heav’ns are parents single? / No, the thought makes reason stare! / Truth is reason; truth eternal / Tells me I’ve a mother there.” “When I leave this frail existence, / When I lay this mortal by, / Father, Mother, may I meet you / In your royal courts on high? / Then, at length, when I’ve completed / All you sent me forth to do, / With your mutual approbation / Let me come and dwell with you.” “O My Father” is a Latter-day Saint (LDS or Mormon) hymn written by Eliza R. Snow

This was taken at Swansea, Newcastle NSW, Australia. The water around this place is absolutley amazing – the most beautiful blues I have ever seen…unfortunately not so good for capturing in IR…but I managed to get the sky to turn out like the colour of the water. Honestly, that’s the colour of the water. / / / / / / / / / / /

The spiral in this fractal reminded me of a cyclone and the swirling winds. / /

Getting to know the stars is an important part of landscape photography. Using a compass and G.P.S I was able to pinpoint the South Celestial Star. Because of the rotation of the earth, using a six hour exposure gives the feeling of the stars trailing around this point. I used a 5 million candle power flashlight to illuminate the sand dune. Because of the massive size of the dune I had to climb an adjacent dune and paint the light on from there. Camera – Fuji Gx617 / Film – Fuji Velvia

A rose is but a rose…but what is a rose on a celestial level…the universe is ever eternal….and a rose is but a rose or is it….could it be that we are all one piece of the eternal and all that we know is nothing but a heart beats moment in time…. (just a little glance into my frame of mind) A celestial goddess in deep contemplation….what is life…where did conscious awareness spring from… are we but specks of dust….the cosmos hold the key to the questions…

It is a happy talent to know how to play. / Ralph Waldo Emerson after yesterday and creating two powerful pieces of art with a lot of intense energy in them, it was fun to do a more lighthearted one today….just for a smile….and a reminder to us all to take time in our days to play! :-)

This photo was taken about 5km’s around the lake from where I took The Sky Is Broken . These two shots were taken on different days in opposite weather conditions, yet, the sky still came out the same. If you are familiar with IR, you will know how rare it is for 2 pictures to turn out the same…even pictures taken a couple of minutes apart can be different so it is really quite strange that these are so simialr…Wonder what’s going on in the sky there??? / / / / / SOLD: 1 Large Framed Print (Jan 2008?) / / / / /
