I honestly cannot remember when this photo was taken but I would think about 1997. We were down in Thurles to watch Dublin play Gaelic football against god knows who. Anyway despite our best support and the teams best effort, we lost. The atmosphere between the fans and the locals afterwards was absolutely brilliant. A huge party erupted in the centre of Thurles and the Dubs had as good a time as the winners, from Clare or Tipp or Cork or wherever they were from. / The connection between these strangers was probably based on the idea of sharing but not letting go of the bottle. A trust thing but who knows?

So, yesterday was my wedding anniversary. Twenty-eight years, WOW…time flies when you are having fun! In honor of that milestone, this is a pic from our wedding waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in 1979 digitally altered just for fun. My husband will kill me for this, LOL!

If you have never seen the tulip fields in the Skagit Valley, in Northern Washington, you have missed an amazing sight. I took this photo in 2004, and haven’t been back even though I live only 30 miles away. Once a year, during the blooming season, the growers open the fields to visitors and there is a big celebration. I am going this year with a group of photographers, so watch for even better photos.

Illustration of a giftbox with a red and white spotted lid and stripes on the sides, and a green ribbon on top. Perfect as a Christmas card or gift, or for any special occasion or celebration! I love gift boxes and lovely wrappings. When I was younger I was the designated family gift-wrapper. I suspect that it was more because the rest were far too lazy to do it than any particularly excellent skills on my part, but I loved the whole wrapping process … Apparently I also drove the family nuts as I would also takes AGES to unwrap my own gifts. Didn’t want to spoil the gorgeous papers so I’d take the sticky tape (sellotape to some of you out there) off slooooowly and precisely :) more at www.floatinglemons.com

This flag is so enormous that it takes two huge cranes to hoist it into the sky! This photo was taken just before the fireworks began in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, on the fourth of July. The moon was barely showing through the gray clouds in the distance, but the skies overhead were clear and perfect for the fireworks show that was about to begin! Happy birthday USA! The Flag At Twilight This photo was just taken on July 4th, 2009. It was shot with a Canon EOS 10D using a Canon EF 35-350mm f/3.5-5.6L zoom lens set to 60mm. The shutter speed was 1/4th sec. at f/4. The camera’s ISO was set to 400. No Flash. A Manfrotto tripod was used with a remote shutter release cable. Your comments are always welcome!
