For many people, the thought of expressing feelings and emotions on paper is downright daunting. / But it doesnt need to be! after all, the words themselves are not nearly as important as the thought behind them. / And every ones thoughtfulness takes the most simple sentiments and turns them into gestures of kindness and gratitude love and celebration, sympathy and support, and thoughtfulness reaches out to the people we care about and remind them that thay are in our thoughts our hearts and even our prayers. / Thankyou Redbubble for letting me share my thoughts with all the very kind people from this site….

I like this calendar function. It’s really easy to use. I think the hardest part of creating a calendar is putting one together where their is continuity of the work. I have so many paintings in my portfolio to choose from but they don’t necessarily work together. Anyway, here’s my attempt, “Wild About Life”. Enjoy. Wild About Life

The crowd for this one, like the last one, was a little bit excessively enthusiastic at times. More so probably because this was a weekend premiere, and diehards who are ordinarily employed during the week had a chance to line up earlier than they otherwise would (this may or may not have included me). And with a gorgeous lead actress attending the premiere for a movie she’s starring in for the first time in, like, a month, you can understand the excitement. Oh, and some dude called ‘Leonardo Di Caprio’ was going to show up, it was rumoured. And a couple of people seemed excited about that too. / Leo! Kate! Jack! Rose! Director Sam Mendez didn’t attend! For all I know, nobody else of the cast did either! I barely bothered to take photos of anybody else even so!! / It’s the international symbol for a London Movie Premiere – Yellow Cap Guy is in position and primed, albeit in a rare sub-optimal non-pole-position location. / You know that thing I get when I see a gorgeous actress and I can’t think of anything funny to say, and I need to revert to factual information? Well, I’m getting it here. / Kate Winslet. At the Golden Globes she got best actress (for this film) and best support actress (for The Reader). For the BAFTAS, however, things are tricker : she’s been nominated for best actress for BOTH films. / Leonardo Di Caprio. The girls were screaming from the moment…. well, that they arrived a couple of hours before he did, it seemed. / It’s been 12 years since Titanic and even longer since Baz Luhrman’s ‘Romeo+Juliet’ but apparently The Ladies still like this guy. / The crowd were all screaming ‘Dermott!!’ or ‘Dylan!!’ or ‘Derek!!’ or something suchlike for this guy. I contemplated tossing in a ‘Jebediah!!!’ just to see what would happen… / “No, in fact I’ve been in nearly a dozen films since Titanic. Don’t you remember ‘The Man in the Iron Mask’ and ‘Don’s Plum’? “ / “I do NOT owe you five dollars. It was like 8 yuan and that exchange rate is completely out of date”. Hmmm… Kate Winslet may be right. (I hasten to add that I do not do anything so banal as screaming out a star’s name during a premiere. I’m all about capturing them in their environment, not interacting) / “Sophie!!” “Sophie!!” the crowd screamed. I wondered if the idea of getting fans to scream out celebrities’ full names would ever catch on. My money was on a Sophie of the Ellis-Bextor persuasion, but who knows… / It’s the chaos of premieres I like, the raw challenge of taking photos in split seconds on a camera whose low-light focus is somewhat suspect. Did you know that my camera defaults to an aperture of f8 when you change batteries on the fly? That’s a fairly disastrous setting on the lens I was using… / I’m going with guessing that guy is Aussie wobbleboard legend Rolf Harris, in the absence of any assistance from wireimage.com / “it’s kind of a sequel, except in this one the boat DOESN’T sink!! Can my people call your people?” Leonardo Di Caprio looks diplomatically transfixed. / Unaccountably this is not my photo for the day / It’s this one (In other words, the London Monument to the Great Fire of 1666 never stood a chance…) So this one wasn’t one of my all-time faves, except that somehow despite some rather ungentlemanly conduct from the guys in my immediate vicinity I still managed to get some pretty good photos. All thanks to the mighty stool, which even got me enough elevation to shoot blindly over the hoarding protecting the public from the assembled paparazzi (or vice versa). Next up, I’m not sure I’ll make it to the ‘Valkyrie’ premiere, but we shall see. Until next time! The archive: / 7 Pounds – Will Smith!! / Defiance – Craig! Liev! .. the other guy! / Australia – Kidman! Jackman! Luhrman! / Yes Man – Carrey! Deschanel! / Madagascar2 – Rock! Stiller! Pinkett-Smith! / A Bunch of Amateurs- Royal Screening – HRH represents!! / Quantum of Solace – Everyone! Often blurry! / How to Lose Friends and Alienate People – Pegg! Ummm….Serkiss?! / Tropic Thunder – Stiller! Downey Jnr! Black! / Righteous Kill – De Niro! Pacino! 50Cent! Kickass / RockNRolla – Ritchie! Butler! Newton! Madonna shows up! / The X-Files : I Want to Believe – Anderson! Duchovny! Carter! / The Dark Knight – Bale! Caine! Eckhart! Gyllenhall! All kind of! / Wall-E – Weaver! Burtt! The Robot! / Hancock – Charlize Theron. Will Smith. Enough Said.

Just to share a very funny thing that happens to me some days ago, some time ago i was invited by Pedro Guitton a Brazilian designer and editor of some of the design books by Index books in Barcelona, they publish a lot of books from different types of design like industrial, interiors, etc. so he told me that there’s going to be a book about tributes to people that we admire i thought it was cool to be be part of it, the book was launched in Brazil and Barcelona, i was about to get my copy some days ago, and days ago i decided to go and buy some books, i went to my favorite bookstore here in Guatemala and i had the lovely surprise to find the book there, there was only like 3 copies there i get mine inmediatly, i check my designs there and i was kind of happy to find a book with my work in my fav bookstore here in my country it was an odd but nice feeling, so heres a link so you can have an idea of the nature of the book i made 3 designs one for one of my favs! singers ever Morrisey, another one for Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and one last for IAMX. So thats the news for now hope to share some more with you my friends very soon cheers!! http://www.indexbook.com/libro.php?703

After the past couple of miserable days I’ve had… / It was a LOVELY surprise to wake up this morning and find that two of my photos had been selected to be featured in the / 1:1Celebrities Group I am especially grateful for the one of Trace Adkins as it was taken as he was singing / “Arlington”... a song that is very touching and meaningful to me. My poem SAD written in celebration beauty and grace of sadness was featured today in the All Out Emotions Group. Thank you so much to the moderators Rheenie and Jane Keats for chosing to feature my poem SAD in All Out Emotion – What wonderful news to receive on arriving home just now. Here it is…for my friends who have not read Sad yet :) Sad Sadness is shy. / She bites at our hearts / and tugs at our minds. / Sadness stops us / and makes us feel. Our blood bursts with sadness. / Makes us fall within our essence. / Sadness is the seed / in the fertile soil / that grows the flower happiness. Sadness the mirror. / Sadness the reflection / of our faces in the water. / Sadness makes us dance alone. / She makes us build emotional muscle. Sadness gives us gumption. / Sadness makes us have courage. / She feeds our minds with memories and dreams. / Sadness creates tension for change, / and urges us to look within. Sadness massages our hearts / and makes them grow stronger. / Sadness is our teacher, / the precursor of self-awareness, / the inspiration behind our art. Sadness is the friend of reflection, / Sadness the light in the dark, / The shadow to the sun. / Sadness now is part of our happiness then. / Sadness knows nature loves to hide. The more we love, / The more we miss, / The more we cry when it goes. / Sadness is the mistress of vulnerability, / The guardian of our sensitivity, / A companion to our bliss. Sadness links us to others, / Sadness enables us to feel compassion, / Sadness is an empty space, / Sadness is beautiful, / Sadness makes us human. by Anthea Slade With love, Anthea

Wonderful News…my poem Disrupt has been chosen as a feature today in the fabulous Core (C.O.R.E). Checking my RedBubble when my sleep was disrupted I was pleasantly surprised to find that my poem Disrupt had been chosen as a feature. At the dawn of my day 4 am this is a lovely beginning. Thank you so much Ushna Sardar and theyellowfury for chosing Disrupt to feature in your group. I truly appreciate this feature. Here is the poem to share: Don’t come near me unless you want to be disrupted. I will: Upturn a cliche and write it to a new form / Eradicate generalisation and turn it specific / Challenge a belief system if your face is sad / Think from different perspectives always… / Look at one feeling, idea, person from multiple points of view at once / Break apart binaries good/bad right/wrong that imprison our minds / Turn objectivity to subjectivity and then reverse it / Unpack revolutionary, anarchist, activist, environmentalist…..creative / Bounce from one archetype to another from muse to vampire thanks Jung / Shatter expectation if it is judgemental and cruel / Surprise with imagination and odyssey travelled / Thrive with encouragement and inspiration / Question our wired generation / Devastate prejudice and bias that hurts others / Advocate freedom and fight for love, honour, decency and respect. / Look through lens of post structural, scientific, modern, psychological / and head towards Neo Post or Beyond the Post… / Research from Foucault to Derrida to Decartes to Hegel to Jung to Freud / Think creatively, innovatively, strategically, laterally and emotionally / Live on the edge, the fringe, from the inside, the outside and be free / Do what you don’t expect…. ...because I have been told since I was a little girl that I / think too much… ‘Leave your mind behind next time’ They said to me: You feel too much / You are too much because not only can you think you can feel too much… / Your too intense / (Did they think these words would silence me…remove my voice… / stop my mind…) Too much for Who? / Too much for What? / Too much for You? / Too much too much too much / Much too much / Makes me want to scream…too much. I will: Disrupt / Dismantal / Unpack / Challenge / Reconstruct / Recreate As long as my mind is free and my voice can speak and my heart can / feel I will disrupt death in life, cruelty to others and intolerance / of difference. And live full and free to my last breath. Too much……....never :) Anthea Slade 21-2-09 With love, Anthea

I’ll be honest, I felt a bit rusty going to this one. Also, I was a bit worried. See, I had Trek tendencies a while back and much like Star Wars, these once mighty franchises have become a bit of a laughing stock due to overexposure and George Lucas’ greed (well… one more than the other on that reason). So would it be excruciating seeing a whole crowd filled with Klingons, Borg and Ferengi, or sad if there weren’t many. ... and who cares? As long as one (1) cute actress showed up and I got a JJ Abrams autograph, where was the issue? / Forget odd and even number rules for star trek sequels. forget JJ Abrams. Forget fans who distinguish between ‘trekker’ and ‘trekkie’. It’s Yellow Cap Guy, so it all pales into insignificance. / Blue carpet premiere. Funky! / That? Says it all. / She’s here under sufferance, oblivious to the dilithium crystal monoliths spewing forth periodic dry ice and fans screaming “KHAAAAAAN” every couple of minutes. I’m sorry, lady…. but this isn’t a tenth of how bad it could all have been! / Ya cannae change the laws of sporrans, cap’n. It’s Simon Pegg. I’ve photographed him at, like, four premieres already, so he’ll only be appearing in this album once. Wearing a kilt, though. He plays Scotty in this film. / It’s Zachary Quinto, better known as villain Sylar in Heroes. I stopped watching that about halfway through season One but do plan to continue. I kind of expected him to punch the people in wheelchairs in front of him, but in fact he was more than happy to sign autographs (‘Yours in evil, Sylar… I mean Zachary. Love…’) / “Are you calling me ‘Stacey’? Are you calling me ‘Jane’?. Those aren’t my name, dude.” John Cho plays Sulu in the film. / She’s Zoe Saldana, and she’s more than cute enough for me to forgive her if that’s a vulcan salute she’s trying for in this shot. She plays Uhura in the film. / “Dude, loved you in that movie” / “Yeah, me too” / Kirk and Spock share a moment. / Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond was telling the people in front of me desperate for his autograph that he was kind of running late. Obviously not driving a Bugatti to the premiere, then…. / Christopher Pike plays Captain Kirk in this film and if that’s a Vulcan Salute, then I may have to go home in protest. (I’m not that big a fanboy… I’m just a supporter of… ermmm infinite diversity in infinite combinations?). / Farq, I just insulted Kirk. On the plus side, I did nearly burst out laughing at the lady apparently doing that ‘pretend you’re walking down stairs on a flat surface trick’ in front of him (“Look at me! I’m heading into the basement!!”) / Don’t look into his eyes – he’ll steal your soul! (My knowledge of Heroes is limited, so I’m not sure he can actually do that…) / JJ Abrams. All joking aside, and forgetting for a moment that I never watched Alias and stopped watching Lost about four episodes in in protest over them not revealing what the deal with the giant dust monster and the polar bear was…. he’s a great director. Mission Impossible III was excellent and Cloverfield was fantastic / Check it out – actor Eric Bana is a fan of Top Gear! I am too. And I think Bana is a very good actor. I just thought Ang Lee’s ‘The Hulk’ was maybe not the acme of comic book adaptations. ‘Slow and ponderous to the point of coma-inducing’ is not the same as ‘deep and meaningful’. But I don’t blame the guy who wore the purple shorts… / Actually, I was both surprised and relieved that there wasn’t more of this kind of thing. / Eric Bana doesn’t like it when you dis The Hulk. Fine, I’ll modify it by saying I did quite like Munich and Black Hawk Down, both of which he was in. And Jennifer Connelly made The Hulk bearable anyway.. / Actress Zoe Saldana once again looking cute. I was vaguely disappointed by 3 of the last 4 Star Trek films and most of the last two series, but I think I’ll give this movie a go.(hey, it wouldn’t be the first time I’ve watched a movie on the strength of the female lead. Aeon Flux sure did suck, incidentally….) / Pike and Kirk. If nothing else, the trailer looks good and the instrumental score they were playing on the speakers sounds interesting (hey, it wouldn’t be the first time I’ve watched a movie on the strength of the soundtrack composer, incidentally) / JJ Abrams signed an autograph, so I’ll forgive his attempt at a Vulcan Salute, if that’s what it was.. / That Sylar dude sure is popular. I must become more evil. Somehow… / “And I’m coming for you and I’m coming for your kids. Oh, wait, hold that thought. Go about your business, people” You’ll note that daylight savings has started in London as well… nice to have some natural light at these things.n Next up? Possibly ‘State of Play’ tomorrow. But in any event, until next time! The Archive of Premieres The last few: / 17 Again – Zac Efron!!! Eeee!!! / The Boat that Rocked – McCartney! Halliwell!.. even some of the Cast showed up! / Fast and Furious – Diesel! Walker! Brewster! Rodriguez! / The Damned United – Broadbent! Sheen! / Monsters vs Aliens – Witherspoon! Sutherland!

I said “WET”, then she laughed adding “YOU certainly are!!!” / Liv Ullman: in Fur and Glowing with refined elegance at an Airport . I was ten at the time, had no fear, and walked straight up to her in a middle of an interview and introduced myself as her biggest fan ever! / Gary Glitter: I screamed when I saw his lizard features as he came hurtling round a corner in a London Cab, he stuck his head out and screamed back ! / Kate Bush: Again I sneaked in backstage pretended I was a Make up Girl, she was very impressed / Leif Garrett :shaking backstage while his Mom Manager fed him pills / Mark Seymour yelled me for taking the a stubbie from the Band's Fridge<br />Tony Barber: bought Dairy Queens from our Milk Bar in Cheltenham<br />Bert Newton: he offered me a cookie inbtwn takes on his show at Channel Ten<br />Marlon Brando's daughter I made her tea King’s rd Chelsea / Kylie Minogue: she kindly passed me toilet paper under the cubicle at The Lounge when I ran out / Michael Hutchence: introduced backstage he took my hand kissed it and then / gave me the thumbs up / Air Supply: backstage Countdown Awards, I sneaked in / Little River Band , not into them at all was just on my way to find Kate! / Daryl Brathwaite: (from Sherbet) I pretended I was conducting door to door surveys on light fittings! (what the?) The Southern Cross Hotel, he laughed <br />( I had wagged school) and suggested I come in as he pointed to the Double bed, I ran!<br />Lene Lovich: I gushed over her eating speghetti Leo’s / Molly Meldrum: we boogied on the dance floor together / Penny Arcade: one of her buddies invited me to her motel room after her show / George Negus: on a plane, waiting in line for the toilet / Tina Arena: she was like 12 and I was stalking her / Humphrey B Bear: went to hug me and I pushed him away / D-Generation: they bought pot off me, they sat on my bed while I divided up the goodies! / Serious Young Insects, I dropped a tampon in one of the arrogant insects drink, / to see how much it would expand! He was not amused / Sean Kelly from the Models, had a chat and shared a beer @ The Greyhound Hotel Hmmmmm that’s all I can think of so far, there maybe more if I jog my memory…..........in the meantime let me hear your Name drops….....

I painted Angst a number of years ago and have had it uploaded on RedBubble for over a year. I feel this is one of my most emotionally intense paintings and because it did not recieve much response I did not think this work had an audience. I uploaded this work originally because it was my sisters favourite. Today Ushnaa Sardar featured Angst in CORE. Thank you so very much…you have truly made my day. Maybe Angst does have an audience afterall :) With love, Anthea
