A celebration of creativity, stillness and mystery.
Various types of waterfowl are the focus on this 2009 calendar. Included in the twelve month collection are the green heron, American white pelican, wood duck drake, cormorant, black-bellied whistling duck, Great egret, ibis, Great blue heron, seagull, yellow-crowned night heron, snowy egret, and the goose. Almost all of these were photographed in my home state of Louisiana.

Artist statement: My journey as an abstract artist began many years ago when I was looking for emotional healing. I had the need to reach inside myself and manipulate my unconscious feelings. Once I was able to achieve that, I created art which allowed me to dance with my psyche. / I now have found peace and freedom within. I love strong, bold and vibrant colors, the fall/autumn colors speak to me the most. / I am not afraid to make changes and to let the emotion come through. I am an expressionist not an illustrator. My paintings can be a confrontation and may make you look deep within. I hope my art pieces will bring the same joy to you. / Your job is to clear your conscious mind of thoughts and preconceptions in order to allow yourself to be influenced by what you see. Maggie Bernet
Photography at movie premieres is not just about the stars, it’s about the stars in a public environment. You can have dozens of press photographers catching identical saccharine / vanilla poses, but to really appreciate these events you have to shoot from a different angle, see it as the crowd sees it, and hope like hell that your camera can focus quickly enough to capture those fleeting moments… / / Stars featured include: / - Charlize Theron / - Johnny Depp / - Nicole Kidman / - Quentin Tarantino / - Kate Winslet / - Will Smith / - Al Pacino Feedback appreciated, incidentally!
This calendar is a collection of some of my Venetian MASK SERIES, these works range frome original watercolour pencil drawings to original acrylic and gouache paintings.
