This was taken around the middle of the day from the center of the World Heritage listed Melbourne Exhibition Building. I used a 19mm equivalent lens in order to get the whole center piece in, and made a real effort to to stand as directly under the center, and pointing as straight up as possible. To give you some idea of height of the roof , the tiny coloured spots in the center are actually helium balloons that have ascended to the highest point in the building (click for the zoom view to see them better). ~ / Browse Images by Category : Snow Landscape Nature Urban
Taken at the Milwaukee Art Museum. If you’re ever in the area and in the mood for some amazing art, you need go no further than the parking lot of this building. The architecture itself is a work of art. © Cadence Gamache

This is an HDR image of the wonderfully ornate stone ceiling at the back of Peterborough cathedral, I had great fun trying to take the various exposures necessary to make this image, as the place was full of tourists. Still I think you will agree it was worth the patience. The other HDR shot I took in here is this one:
The abandoned farmhouse continues! / / After I opened the front door, I couldn’t go in. / There was a huge drop off there, so I had to go / around. When I went inside, this is what I saw. / (And sadly, the door in my “Welcome Home” photo had / been ripped off. But the ivy remained..) / / I’ll be adding more from this series later, so keep checking back! ;) / / / / / / More from this series: / / Welcome Home / Tattered And Torn / Wild Horses / 1989 / I Remember You /

Exeter’s beautiful 1000 year old cathedral has the longest continually vaulted ceilng in the World. I carefully composed this image of a short section of the vaulted ceiling to be as symmetrical as possible and give a pleasing patternation created by the lines of the gilt decorated structural beams. As a footnote to anyone else trying this kind of composition, you get quite a bit of attention from others when you spend over an hour laying on your back in such a sacred building trying to get that special image. LMHO…...I made this a while ago. It made me giggle so much I doubted whether or not it was worth uploading. But I still like it and it’s still making me giggle, so maybe there’s something to it. Enjoy!
This is a corridor of The Louvre, Paris. The Louvre is the largest museum in France and the most visited in the world. It is also the home of the Mona Lisa, arguably Da Vinci’s most famous and mysterious work. The Louvre was build in the 12th Century and initially qas a fortress for Philip II. 400 years later it became a display house of Louis XIV, and in 1793, was opened for it’s first exhibition. It was closed again until 1801 due to structural damage, when it reopened. Today the Louvre houses over 380,000 pieces of art, across 8 departments. I spent 4 hours in there and only got to see 1/8 of the entire building. Two textures added to this one and a slight adjustment of colour and contrast to make it look like an old photo of an aristocratic past. Slight crop also, to take out the tops of the many visitors heads that were in frame.
