I think i’m going to start a “Living Landmark Series’. This tree has a story. A good friend of mind had visited this tree 25 years ago and this week-end he organised for me to venture with him to see this Living Landmark. This is a ‘Cedrus libari’ or known as a Lebanon Cedar. A tall long lived Cedar with spreading branches that grows in Lebanon & Turkey. Quite a rare tree for Australia. It was his second visit and my first, although i can see this tree from my backyard perched below ‘Cook’s Hill’ in Korumburra in South Gippsland Australia. It is estimated that this tree is around 100 years old planted around the same time as the Korumburra Botanical Gardens somewhere around 1910-1920.
The Cedar of Lebanon. This is John who has climbed to visit this tree for the second time. The last time was 25 years ago and he has watched this tree over the years. He has planted his own garden including exotic trees ‘but this is a rare and special one’ he says.
I wonder if there is any more of these trees perched high on a hill in South Gippsland. The Cedar of Lebanon certainly has made it’s mark here.

The Moss covered Cedar stump, is in the Woodlands on my old Farm land in NW Oregon. / This stump takes 4 people with extended arms to go around in the state it is in. Wonder how much bigger around it once was? / I know most people would not be interesting buying a photo like this but I just wanted to share an old decaying Cedar lost to time. Photo taken with my Evolt 510 camera.

Here is a very Tranquil spot to sit and meditate at. Have a Happy Fall…
The mystical slopes of Forbidden Plateau on Vancouver Island BC, Canada, harbour a secret. Anciently it is said that an entire tribe of people who were pursued by their enemies, disappeared forever into the sacred mists high up on the plateau. A powerful legend that still thrives today. Part proceeds from this photograph help benefit the Prince Rupert Wildlife Rescue Shelter. Thank you for helping the animals.
This is the second version of “This Little Tree”. /
A country (gravel) road lined with cedar trees in my neighborhood here in Southeast Missouri. This one goes to the cemetery so it is a little better maintained than some of the many other gravel roads we have in our community.

Featured in Dimensions, August 31, 2009 and in Digital Brushstrokes September 6, 2009. This art started out as a photograph of a black-capped chickadee sitting on a cedar tree branch in the woods behind our home. / After several hours in Photoshop and Painter X this is the final result. Every pixel of this piece was re-painted (digitally) by hand to give the image a painted look. All of the miniature wild roses were created from scratch. / DETAIL CROP / / Canvas Print / / Flat Black Frame & Bright White Matting / / Fine Art Gallery / Bird Gallery / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST /
Cedar Falls is among the most magnificent waterfalls in Ohio and certainly one of the most popular in the Hocking Hills. No matter what time of year you visit, Cedar Falls Ohio is a sight to behold. The name Cedar Falls is a misnomer — the result of mistaken identity. Early settlers to the area misidentified the stately hemlock trees as cedar trees; consequently, this park was incorrectly named. Despite the mistake, the name Cedar Falls has been used ever since. Nikon D40 18-135mm / Tripod/CPFilter

5 cards sold Watercolor Painting, 140lb Montval paper 14”x18” / I’ve always considered my self lucky. I grew up in a family of ten kids and we had a wonderful house build by my grandfather. We were far from being rich in income, but my mom and dad really worked hard to give us what we needed. But when we went to the lake cottage in the summer time, I felt like the richest girl in town. I feel so blessed that I had that life. We swam all day and rowed our little boats on the hunt for turtles and climbed grassy hills to slide down on cardboard. It was a life that people dream of. / This painting is of one of the islands we could see from our cottage. It was one of 4, Dollar, Quarter, Penny and this was Nickel Island. I remember there used to be a dime, but it slowly sank and washed away. All of the rest are still there. / What a life we had living in our sweet little cottage on Big Cedar Lake, Wisconsin! /
