  • The Compact Cassette, often referred to as audio cassette, cassette tape, cassette, or simply tape, is a magnetic tape sound recording format. Although it was originally intended as a medium for dictation, improvements in fidelity led the Compact Cassette to supplant reel-to-reel tape recording in most non-professional applications. Its uses ranged from portable audio to home recording to data storage for early microcomputers. Between the early 1960s and early 2000s, the cassette was one of the two most common formats for prerecorded music, first alongside the LP and later the Compact Disc. The word cassette is a French word meaning little box.

  • Eat, sleep listen hotel road sign; Headphones also known as earphones, earbuds, stereophones, headsets, or by the slang term cans or face plugs are a pair of small loudspeakers, or less commonly a single speaker, with a way of holding them close to a user’s ears and a means of connecting them to a stereophonic, monophonic or binaural audio-frequency signal source such as an audio amplifier, radio or CD player. In the context of telecommunication, the term headset is used to describe a combination of headphone and microphone used for two-way communication, for example with a telephone

  • The phonograph, or gramophone, was the most common device for playing recorded sound from the 1870s through the 1980s. They continue to be manufactured and sold into the 21st century, although in small numbers. While there are many audiophiles who still prefer vinyl records over digital music sources (primarily compact disc) for their perceived fidelity, they represent an enthusiastic minority of listeners. The quality of the available record players, tonearms, and cartridges has continued to improve, despite a diminishing market.

  • Radio London History / The UK had no radio to speak of prior to 1964. Offshore, or “pirate”, stations began broadcasting from ships and forts in the North Sea. These stations played a massive part in the 1960’s culture. People have never forgotten Radio London because in 1964, it brought listeners something they never heard before – American format radio and jingles. Some dear friends of mine in Colorado have a band called Radio London and they have just launched a website with their music, history and scheduling for future music endeavors. / Their Vintage Rock sound with a touch of R&B is quite a dancing combination, this T-shirt design is their logo and all sales proceeds will go to them!

The underside of a CD, with water droplets on it and my spotlight lamp shining above it. Inspired by the incredible work of Sally Green. Big thank you to Sally for her generous help, and to Steve Falla for helping out with how to do this! I took over 100 shots of this, and I have to say, it’s a lot harder to get this right than I thought it would be! Precision in: angle, lighting, focus, droplets in the right places, movement, not to mention camera settings.. wow, a lot more than I thought! This shot was a mistake, I was after a bright spectrum of colour to reflect off the droplets and CD surface. I moved the camera a cm, and lost all surface colour. When I was reviewing the shots later, this one really stood out. Opposite of what I wanted, but a nice alternative to what I set out for initially. I love the contrast of bright reflection against the darkness of the shot. • The underside of a CD with water droplets on the surface, and a spotlight lamp shining above it. The ringlets of light in the droplets are the reflection of the spotlight. Inspired by the incredible work of Sally Green. Big thank you to Sally for her generous help, and to Steve Falla for lending a hand! This is the main shot that I wanted to use. Onyx being the other one. This is so much harder than it looks to get right!
