The Grand Canal in the grand city of Venezia!!! I don’t think I could ever get tired of taking photos here…
We all know that the sun and the moon will never met being on opposite position but what if….. / A double layers. / Friends at last ,they meet on the cosy clouds and stay friends forever. / This idea came to me from a song that my mother used to sing when I was young about a rendez-vous between the moon and the sun that never happenned because the two of them were always waiting for one another.Charles Trenet,my mom’s idole was singing that song… / «Le soleil a rendez-vous avec la lune mais la lune n’est pas là et le soleil l’attend »A wonderful card to say that nothing is impossible when you’re in love. / / / / /
Here are my 3 playing at the beach during a storm. I’ve had a bit of a play with colours and liked the end result. I find this quite dreamy and surreal almost.
Plants from the Osteospermum genus are some of my favourite to photograph. This is the “brother” image of Beauty and grace. Fujifilm Finepix S7000, 18 – 55mm lens plus macro converter @ 8mm, 1/630 sec, F/7, ISO 400. Processing in CS3.

Best viewed large. / Shot in a small stream in Royal National Park just south of Sydney Australia. / The blueness of this shot is a mystery to me. I’ve noticed that if you shoot moving water just after sunset it does tend to bring out the blue wavelength, especially if you use a polarising filter oddly enough. But I’ve never got this intensity of blue since. I made some adjustments to the curves and levels in PS to accentuate contrast a little but there is no colour manipulation to the water – this is how it came out! The only thing I can think of is that for some reason at that particular time and the particular angle I was taking this shot the auto colour balance in the camera was fooled into boosting the blue wavelength but this still doesn’t make much sense to me. Any other suggestions (short of radioactive material being poured in the water upstream lol)? I’ve actually got some even bluer than this but, quite frankly, they look so over the top it looks like I went nuts with PS so I haven’t posted them. / Shooting info as follows: / Tv 6 secs / Av f29 / ISO 200 / FL 70mm
This is an old photo remastered in photoshop. The original was pretty but lacked interest I thought.
Thought I would see if I could capture the feel of the tide approaching . Taken at dusk perched on rocks with the aid of a Benbo tripod with legs you can lock at any angle . The exposure was around 30 seconds at f16 using a Canon10D with a 17-34 Tamrom at 17 mm . I believe I achieved what I set out to do and find peace whenever I look at this picture . Its my screensaver at work and usually pops up just when needed and is without manipulation , as the camera recorded .
This is another image from the series of infrared shots that I took from the banks of the local river today.. However instead of focusing on the water, I decided to turn around and shoot the hill behind me as I knew that the tree in the centre would turn out bright white compared to the rest of the trees and I knew the grass would turn out well.. / Hope you like it!
X=pro info: Picture build by the orton-technique. and added blue layer and some blur.

I am occasionally asked how I start the crazy pics :) This is my concept sketch for “Sea Creature” / The good-natured sea creature gazes benignly at the nervous Grinners as they swim past, in their usual backwards style. The poison blisters on the Grinners’ backs were fully inflated, as though they expected trouble. Observers in the underwater viewing deck, were making notes. Temperatures had risen alarmingly in the Nglishoop sea and creatures like the Blister-bodied Grinners were stressed as a result of these changes and their response was to remain in defence mode. This was costing them valuable energy though, as it was usually reserved for short fight or flight occasions. They were aware, in their remarkably evolved brains, that something was not right, but nothing in their evolutionary coding had prepared them for anything like this. These brightly coloured underwater imps, were a critical part of the reef biome and the researchers were worried. Although they were terrestrial beings, the observers knew that their lives were inextricably bound to events that occurred in this underwater world. Time was running out…

this is a large acrylic painting of Seadrifter approx 100cm x120cm.
I was inspired by the contrast and affect of soft, quieting snow to busy city life and its bold structures. This was mainly painted using a palette knife and heavily textured with impasto. The rain finally eased up toady…..probably because it was back to work after easter..lol / Anyway, I managed to get out after dinner. Went to Merewether Baths and because today was ‘cleaning day’ the pool was empty so I could actually get into it without getting too wet the water was just up to my knees I got a few pics before it was too dark. I am going to post 2 shots of the pump house, both have a very different feel about them and since one of the objects of this site is to actually sell art something I have not been successful with as of late… I wanted to put up both as they will probably appeal to different people…I hope!

An inkling of my thought last night / Flew up and out, the moon was bright / It fled along the darkened roads / In search of one I used to know / It looked and found a tired soul / Who once I loved, but did forgo / So lonely on the glittering grass / His lips were whispering as I passed / How earthly love did break his heart / And ripped him when we broke apart / My room is cold, I sleep alone / My bed feels like a broken bone / Within it lies a bitter shell / No more desire, no more hell / He searches for another home / Yet still I love him, now you know..
