  • Sucking down a cold one in the Egyption desert. We thought we were in the middle of nowhere when we encountered this scene. No villages for miles, no clues as to how the boys got there. We approached these boys to find them uncovering an esky full of ice and 1/2 a dozen softdrinks -one of the few times where haggling over price was not performed.

  • More reedy HDRness

  • This image was captured at Marsaxlokk, a quaint little fishing village in Malta. The water was a little murky and kind of greasy, no doubt caused by the diesel from the boats. This has probably caused the paint-like effect that seems prelevant in this image. I tweaked the brightness and colour saturation in photoshop but otherwise this picture is pretty much as is! It was a sunny day and that helped the colours to come out nicely..

  • Welcome to Scotland…..... This scene is the bridge over the River Tweed into Scotland and Coldstream, the first Border town. Just a bit more to tell you about this scene because som people may not realise just how fast this water is travelling. This is a seriously fast moving and deep stretch of water with a weir 50 meters the other side of the bridge. The river bottom is smooth pebble and theres usually a breeze blowing upstream too. This took days to get the shot I wanted with about 250 shots taken to produce just 2, however, the winter sun shone nicely for me all day. Enjoy.

  • Here’s a nice accident! It was to be a photo of my hubby but decided to make it all about me for once!! Ohh… And this is probably as close as we get to having a photo taken together these days!

  • Tulip time in the Skagit Valley, WA. These are reflected in a puddle in a brief sunny period between heavy rains. Canon D60. 1/60 at f/16 Also see a beautiful watercolor rendering of this by Melodius Vanesse has linked one of her beautiful poems to this image as well.

  • Loch of the Lowes lies in the beautiful scottish borders between Moffat and Selkirk. It flows into nearby St Mary’s loch (with its thriving sailing club) past old Tibbieshiels inn, hostelry and overnight stop for walkers on the southern upland way crossing Scotland. Overlooking the north end of the loch is a monument to James Hogg – the Scottish Poet known as the Ettrick Shepherd, friend and contemporary of Sir Walter Scott. Taken 4/3/08 (untouched) with a pocket fuji finepix A500 (There is a 2nd loch of the lowes further north in Perthshire, complete with osprey viewing centre – but you can see the wonderful fish eagle hunting here too if you are lucky!) My first ever feature on the home page ages on 23rd April 2008 and what a party that was…LOL See also : ‘i am a rock’ and ‘LoL’ loch of the lowes

  • i really should cut down on my drinking. I’m starting to see double.

  • This is my creative representation of a reflection. It moves me because it is more than just a new angle when making photographs. The combination of seeing through the window into the restaurant, and the urban wall mural gives the image an edge that gives elegance a whole new meaning… I like food.
