  • Rosh Hanikra is in the northwestern corner of Israel, on the border of Israel and Lebanon. The white chalk cliffs offer a spectacular panoramic view of Haifa Bay, the hills of the Galilee and the Mediterranean. The grottoes of Rosh Hanikra were formed by the sea chipping away portions of the soft chalk rock over thousands of years. These beautiful grottoes are the main attraction of Rosh Hanikra. —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—--

  • Image by photographer Glennis Siverson, www.glennisphotos.com This beautiful water reflection scene is at the end of the trail in Reed Flute Cave, located near the city of Guilin, China. I shot this on 35mm film, then had it converted to a high res tiff file. There was no editing done to this….. it is really that lovely! This is one of the last images I shot on film before making a complete transition to digital.

  • Macro shot of water droplets attached to tree roots in Shawl Cave at Wombeyan Caves, NSW. / These tree roots emerge from the ceiling in Shawl cave and are so incredibly fine that even the slightest movement can damage them. They are covered in water droplets which cling precariously to the roots and are quite simply one of the most beautiful things I have seen in a cave.

BLACK & WHITE | BUILDINGS & ARCHITECTURE | FLOWERS | IRELAND | LONDON | MALLORCA | PLAYING with PICTURES | RED The Virgin rock from the Nuns Strand Caves, Ballybunion, County Kerry, Ireland. the Nuns Strand is a small secluded beach with golden sands. It is surrounded on all sides by cliffs. The only access these days is gained by climbing down the cliff face. / Many years ago, St Joseph’s Convent was built on the cliffs, affording the nuns a wonderous view. A wooden stirway was built so that they could access the beach and it was theirs to use exclusively. / The Virgin Rock is all that remains of what was once another small promontory cliff that has been eroded by the sea. Before the arrival of the nuns, the rock was known as Carraig Na Faoileán (Rock of !the Gulls). /
