As the title implies… I think I ended up causing something on people. Usually I get this effect when I write so I wasn’t sure I would be able to do the same with images. Don’t know if be surprised or frightened. I had a bad nightmare that I decided to twist and modify so I could turn it into something useful (in this case: art) and promptly fired up 3dsMAX and began modelling. After several hours of trial and error with the lights I got a nice setup and finally decided to render, then proceed to Photoshop for the “final” composition. Now, when I showed the finished image to friends and relatives most semeed either creeped out or disturbed by the… umm, ‘thing’ I modelled. Guess we all have a primal fear with doors and the mysteries they might hide behind! Today I decided to do a second shot of the creature, which turned out to be the creepiest… Here they are if you want to take a look: First one / Second attempt I don’t know, maybe I didn’t suffer the same effect because I know how the scene is built and what lies between the polys, etc, etc, etc (and probably because I already have nightmares with bad rendered polys and meshes that refuse to work well).

The first is either crass commercialism or helping you buy more of whatever art strikes your fancy. In case you missed it on the community page. Free shipping in November The next is referring you to a journal entry about supporting a good cause, the pindrop foundation. I luckily can only imagine profound deafness, but various members of my family have had hearing problems, including my maternal grandmother. So, I can empathize. Check out Robyn’s journal entry for more details about the miracle of modern science to restore hearing. And hey, free shipping could mean more money to purchase from the pindrop account. :-)

And he said … “I just called to congratulate you on fantastic work, you got front page and back page. The pool shot was superb and the cricket shot excellent.” :) The pool shot I set up with a bunch of teenagers jumping in backwards with arms and legs all out and silly faces. The cricket shot is one I’ve been trying to get for a long time … a stump by the wicket keeper. And I got a great one! Woohoo! Thanks all my fans … ha ha ha

Hi guys! Just thought I’d take a moment to introduce you to an amazing artist here on RB who is on to a good cause and needs your support. He’s Scott Cooper, known here as coopphoto . He lives with his Navajo wife on a reservation in Arizona. The place is desperately trying to raise funds to build a community center, but it’s proving way difficult through available means. So to help, Scott plans to market one of his awesome images through a selection of galleries, and 100% of the proceeds will go to helping to fund the community center. The image is here on RB and is called Click and Guess . It’s one I remembered commenting on quite a while back as I thought it was such a unique and wonderful piece of art, and I thought it didn’t receive the coverage it deserved. As he wants to promote this image as much as possible as a build up to the gallery run, Scott would be so grateful to anyone who would take a moment to drop by this image and leave a comment. He would then link the image, with the comments, to gallery invites at the right moment as a promotion. If anyone wants more info, Scott would be happy for you to send him a BM. I’m sharing this with you because I admire his art, and because I feel his project is guided by a worthwhile and important issue. Cheers and thanks for looking, BB

Hi It just struct me to do something good and give something back to the society and this world which has given me so much. I am also motivated by quite a few bublers who do support a lot of organisations that help the needful… I am one of the very few in this world who have a shelter on their head and meals on time. ( not to mention a laptop with internet connection and a DSLR to shoot) I want to make donations from whatever money I make of selling my work not just here on redbubble but anywhere possible. I plan to support in whatever way I can three different organisations. One which support orphans around the world. / One who works for conservation of forests and towards global warmings issue / And one animal protection organisation. I have decided to donate my earnings from sales of my images to either of these organisations depending on the subject on the image. / Eg. If its an image of animals, birds then I would give the earnings to an animal protection organisation. If the image is a landscape, trees, flowers then it goes to the forest conservation organisation and if it has kids and people in it, then the money will goto an organisation that supports orphans. I need your help suggesting me names of such organisations that you support or have heard of…. / I want to choose one of each kind and stick by them…. Help Me!!!!!! —-—-——- I have come up with two organisations For Animals WWF / For Children CRY ——- / I am still looking for an organisation which helps conserve forests and/or work towards Global Warming Issue….. / Please…. give me some names…....

I have finally got my act together and found three different organisation doing their bit to help this world become a better place to live in. / For my part. I have decided to give them all the proceeds from the sale of my work not just on RB but on other websites and venues as well…. All the images have been marked with the organisation to which the proceeds of the sale will go. ->I have decided to donate all the money that comes from images of animals/birds to go to WWF ->Proceeds from images where main subject is human to CRY which is doing an enormous job of helping orphans in India ->Proceeds from the images containing plans, landscapes and trees to go to Bush Heritage Australia This was the least I could do on my part… hope I can make this coming year a bit more pleasant for someone or make this planet greener for the years to come. The purpose of this journal was to share this idea with fellow bublers and also thank some bublers who by their action ( not words) made me think of doing something noble as they have been doing for a long time….Thank You All for such a wonderful idea….. / This is the best thing that has happened to me…...........

Hi Everyone…. You’ve all heard me ranting on about Mindfulness for almost a year now….well….the man who introduced me to it is a guy called Gary Heads. It’s almost exactly a year since I met him and he really did change my whole view on life. Yes I have the odd lapse but overall I’m pretty good…;-) Right now Gary is trying to raise funds to build a new school for child refugees from Tibet. / I offered to help him out by starting a new gallery where all sales commission will go directly to the fundraising pot through the Tibet Relief Fund and justgiving. / Already, Tammy and Liesbeth have kindly donated some of their heART for sale…and we so appreciate that….. Please pop over to the main gallery at TruePotential to see what it’s all about. Gary and a local marketing team will be publicising the gallery and corresponding bubblesite all over the place, so hopefully, we’ll get some sales and raise some money!! If anyone would like to have some of their heART in the gallery I’d be thrilled to talk to you about it….. xox

When we think of the bushfires in Victoria most of us think of human lives lost and homes destroyed, but the biggest sufferers from this huge tragedy are the wild animals who by some miracle managed to survive the flames. They’ve lost their habitat and are in desperate need of our help. I’m pledging all profits from the sales of these images to WRAPP You can also make a direct donation by clicking the link above, or join the Wildlife Appeal and donate some of your own work. Please give what you can to help the animals.

Early Morning: / On my way to work I roll into the Petrol station at Sainsbury’s, Upton, on my Moto and start filling up, sitting on the bike as I, and nearly everyone else does, because it means you can fill your tank properly to the top. Suddenly there is no petrol coming out of ther spout. Reason? ............. / / .....the cashier had switched it off because, (long argument short) and I quote, “it is dangerous to fill up sitting on the bike. I’ve seen bikes explode”. Apparently this edict had been handed down by the Operations Manager. She refused to listen to rational argument and so I had to side stand it and get off before she would turn the pump on and I could finish filling up. / / What a load of B---KS. I cannot help thinking that if Bikes were exploding at petrol stations on a regular basis, it just might have made the news. / / Guess who is going to see the Operations Manager tomorrow when we go shopping? / / The Next Day: / We go shopping, and I go to see Sainsbury’s ‘Operations Manager’ whom the petrol cashier said had issued the, ‘must not sit on your bike and fill up’ edict. Turns out that they don’t have an Operations Manager. / / It gets better…...... / / Spoke to a General Manager named Adrian. I explained yesterday’s debacle and he said that what I had been told, ”... was rubbish”. There was no danger filling your bike while sitting on it – he knew because he rodes bikes in the past! Their concern was that you might spill petrol on yourself sitting on the bike, but that it is up to the customer’s own decision. Have to admit a certain smug warmth swept over me!! / / So everything the cashier told me; it’s not allowed, it’s dangerous, she had seen bikes explode (!), and their Ops Manager had told them not to allow it, was a total fabrication. / / He said that if I had trouble again, to say that I had spoken to Adrian and that he said it’s alright to fill up sitting on the bike. / / So – well done Adrian at Sainsbury’s, Upton, Wirral. A result and a victory for common sense! hurray!

A friend of mine asked me to donate a piece to be auctioned off for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Which is obviously an amazing cause. So all I need to do is send her a picture and they will have it put onto canvas, framed, etc. So literally all I have to do is choose a picture. But I want it to be something awesome for a great cause. Sooooo, if you are really bored and want to help me out, please give me your input. Spend a few minutes and dig through my stuff and let me know what you think would be a great picture.

  • Today is Day For Daniel 30th October 2009

Hello everyone! Today is Friday 30th October which is also the day in Australia that we have Day For Daniel. You can check out it all …

Hello everyone! Today is Friday 30th October which is also the day in Australia that we have Day For Daniel. You can check out it all out at the Official Daniel Morcombe Foundation Website See what you can do today to help remember Daniel and the countless other children who go out one day, never to return home to their families but also, importantly, raise awareness for all kids, big and little! Mr and Mrs Morcombe have shown us their grief and strength through the years, since 2003 when Daniel left his house to head to the shops to buy some Christmas presents, in their endless quest to bring his killer to justice and locate their son’s body to have it returned home for burial. All indications point to Daniel having been abducted and killed. I feel strongly about this cause, the Day For Daniel is not all about remembering the children but also to EDUCATE the children of Australia and the world, to the dangers of strangers! The old ‘stranger danger’ message is alive and well here on 30th October each year. Harm Prevention is the key message of today and making your voice heard so that others hear the message. You will see at the website that they urge everyone to wear RED today so if you haven’t left for work or school yet, throw on something RED to support the Daniel Morcombe Foundation and their aims. There is usually a BIG WALK held, the Walk For Daniel and you may be able to find one and also participate in it too!! / On the Challenge page you can see the Biker’s Ride taken last year by Phineous Cassidy, so keep your eye out for the Bikes, the Walkers and the many others out there today taking the time to support the Day For Daniel. I’ll also quickly mention a new DVD that has just been released, I know it is in QLD but I am sure any schools or interested parties can order it from the Library titled WHO’S CHATTING TO YOUR KIDS, covering many topics including the dangers of the internet. I myself, organised a CHALLENGE here at Red Bubble to show my support and raise awareness – this ended a day ago and I am happy to graciously accept my WIN!! Thank you everyone who voted, normally I don’t enter Challenges I set but this one was different and I entered to also show an example of the entry I was after, everyone did a super job of entering, it was a bit tough but you all came up with some wonderful images to represent the theme of Red Alert, Red for Danger, Red for Daniel’s T-shirt….thank you to everyone who entered, this will not be gone unnoticed, not only by me but the Foundation is aware of my efforts and thank you for it. I am not here for Congrats on the Challenge win but to let you know about this special day close to my heart. Here is the Challenge Results (I’ll do a group notice and a super Top Ten there too), you can see all the great entries…Day For Daniel Challenge Results. Please do look at the entries :O) So, go and throw on a red shirt, red hat, scarf or even your red shoes but get out there and tell people about it, educate and talk to kids today about the dangers they face, do the Walk but most of all, take a few minutes out of your day to remember Daniel and how quickly he was snatched from this life and spread the word about the very worthy Day For Daniel, today, Friday 3oth October. Thanks, / Vanessa :O) My Winning Challenge Entry…. /

This week’s Climate Change Summit in Copenhagen has been accompanied by some large public art installations, dubbed ‘Climate Change Art’. This has given rise to discussions about how successful art can be in delivering a message, raising awareness or helping to bring about social change. In keeping with this theme, we thought we’d take a look at some of the art on RedBubble that does just this. / / The images below are just a small selection from RedBubble artists who wish to highlight issues close to their hearts. They cover a wide range of issues including civil liberties, human rights, eating disorders, disability, mental health issues and the environment. In some cases the artists are actively campaigning to support a cause or raise awareness, in others, the issue is raised by the sharing of a story or personal experience. / Related Groups: There are a number of groups on RedBubble devoted to raising awareness of different causes. There are quite a few so we can only cover a small selection here, but we’d like you to add links to any you’re involved with in the comments below.
