  • Blue Rag Track is one of the most spectular 4wd tracks to found in the Victorian High Country. / This is on two counts firstly for the surrounding views and secondly the rocky and seriously steep climbs . I personally know of number of experienced 4 wheel drivers who are happy to no longer drive it. / Unfortunately after the second visit my wife also now refusedsto travel this demanding track…so I have had to enjoy this wonderfull experience without her.

  • This is a little bit of fun mixed in with an image I took in Northern CA last Summer. The place: a well known swimhole close to Cattlemens’ Camp which is a favorite area for camping and also hunting deer South of Mount Shasta and McCloud. The critters in the water are a result of an actual photograph I shot in a local Nursery in Redbluff, CA….garden decor….. a few frogs from another photo I shot here at home so all combined to make this fun image…...Edited with PhotoImpact11…....hope you enjoy…. • ©Seth F.Weaver,Sr.February 2006. 14×17” Black felt tip marker. As you can see from some of my work here I love cowboys. How they lived and what they stood for in the making of America. This was a real quick sketch that has a nice feel to it. I hope you like it. Thanks for looking. Seth

  • Neslted in a snowgum glade, this historic handbuilt cattlemens’ hut in the high country of Victoria, Australia is stil visited by bushwalkers and cross-country skiers. Built in the 1880s as a shelter to stay when cattle were grazing the high pastures during the summer season.

  • The Wonangatta Murders were never solved, but one of the bodies from that station was found near this hut on the high plains.

  • The bush hut at JB Plain on Mount Hotham is still there after years of bushfires and storms – a good symbol of survival perhaps?

  • taken at the Cattlemens Cup in Merrijig Victoria

  • We have become regulars at the annual re-enactment of the Geebung Polo Match held every Easter up in the High Country, Victoria, Australia. This year I decided to make things difficult for myself by trying to TTV events! Interesting, that mirroring thing, when there’s 300 kilos of horse pounding towards you!

  • “Wallaces Hut – Victorian High Country” Not far from Falls Creek is Wallace’s Hut – the oldest remaining cattlemen’s hut in the Victorian high country. Built in 1889 the hut is in fact celebrating 120 years this year. / It had been used by stockmen while moving cattle up to the high plains for grazing and then down again before the Winter snows. Autumn is a magical time to visit the high country and during our recent visit we managed to get to Wallace’s Hut. Due to recent snow falls we had to carefully pick our way up the walking track through a few patches of snow. On arrival we found the hut surrounded by beautiful twisting snow gums, colourful bark and sprinklings of snow. Very picturesque. Depending on conditions (ie outside of Winter or heavy snows), the hut can be reached by road a few kms from Falls Creek and then on foot (less than 1 km) from the Bogong High Plains Rd. • This sweet little hut sat in the Upper Yarra Valley, Water catchment area and Yarra ranges national park. One day some vandels came along and pushed it over. Now that is all is left is the big trees. You can no longer drive down the road as Melbourne Water has blocked it off with its gates and you are not allowed to walk in anymore.
