we were lucky enough to go up to the mezzanine floor at the church in Magné a town in the lovely Marais Poitevin region of the Poitou CharenteI love the round windows in churches (I love all stained glass but the round window always seems to be where I focus my attention!) I am hoping this angle works – if not please do say as I have another but didn’t want to upload 2 that were so similar…. 16th century Church….. taken with Canon 350d standard lens on P program without flash – I have no idea re. iso and shutter speed as I constantly change to suit the light!!

Yes got the neck ache, many people never look up, I do and always find church roofs wonderful, so glad Im not a stone mason as I hate heights.. This image really blown tonally to create a grainy moody feeling

All lit up for Christmas stands just one of Poitiers beautiful and medieval Cathedrals – Eleanor of Aquataine city! Taken on Boxing day ‘07, we will be going back on Boxing Day again this year and I am to try and improve on this photo as to be honest I just used the night time setting on the camera, knowing what I have learnt now hopefully this will be a different photo next year!! Taken on my canon eos 350d using the sigma 70-300mm lens and fighting the crowds!

Saint Boniface Cathedral, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. This church has burned down and been rebuilt numerous times. The facade pictured here is a remnant from one of these occasions. The current church is now a rather contemporary structure which resides immediately behind, within this building’s footprint (Google/Wiki for more details)

This wonderful church roof is from the Roman Catholic catherdral on Norwich, Norfolk. With my camera resting on a pew I was able to steady it enough to take the photograph.
