This is an HDR image of the wonderfully ornate stone ceiling at the back of Peterborough cathedral, I had great fun trying to take the various exposures necessary to make this image, as the place was full of tourists. Still I think you will agree it was worth the patience. The other HDR shot I took in here is this one:

St. Finn Barre’s Cathedral. Cork, Ireland. The cathedral was built in the late 1800s, but by that time, Christian worship had already been offered on the site for 700 years. Many people died there as it was beseiged and fought over. I like to think the dog, and those carved guardians on the wall, are keepers of the many souls which had been lost, or which were buried in the cemetery.

Notre Dame, Paris, France / at night. The church is / dedicated to “Our Lady”, / usually meaning Mary, / mother of Jesus. Some / say “Our Lady ” could be / understood as the wife of / the Rabbi, namely / Mary Magdalene. In the / Eastern churches priests / are all married and have / children before being ordained. / I am not sure, but isn´t this / the case also within the Jewish / tradition?

Another variation that was derived from the ” Departed Souls ” piece. I applied a few filters on different layers and then flattened it. I bumped up the contrast to give it a darker, more ominous visual feel
