In 2008 a semi-feral mother cat had 2 female kittens in my backyard. I adopted all three. This is Tayla, one of the kittens, relaxing on the dock in the early morning. She is a very affectionate cat, which is surprising since she spent the first few months of her life outside, without any human contact. She still loves playing outside, but is just as comfortable curling up inside in her favorite spot for a long nap. She is half siamese, half typical tabby cat. :) We almost lost her in May of 2009 to a poisoinous snake bite. She was struck in the abdomen by either a rattelsnake or cottonmouth, that she apparently did not see. A trip to the ER vet helped her pull through, although she lost a lot of tissue on her abdomen and had a huge open sore that took over a month to heal. We are so glad she is back to her playful loving self! I plan to donate a portion of sales of any of my cat pictures or art to our local cat rescue organization SOCKS (Save Our Cats and Kittens). They are a great non-profit organization and no kill shelter that rescues hundreds of cats from being euthanized at other shelters every year. My little girl, Sassy. Yes, she is really sleeping, she can pretty much sleep in any position when she is tired! LOL Sassy was born on my front porch to one of our local ferrel cats. When I noticed that she could not see well, and could not find her mother to nurse, I brought her in. She has been with me now for over a year. She continues to have problems with her eyesight, but is doing well and a wonderful addition to my family of indoor only cats. Sony CyberShot HD1080 FEATURED IN VICTORIAN VIEWFINDERS GROUP 10/03/2009 THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT VOTED FOR MY LITTLE SASSY IN THE Paws n Claws Bed Time ( Cats only) CHALLENGE!
