I’ve finally had a chance to add a few images to my portfolio, so far only a few of them are available for sale because I need to take bigger pictures or ones of the final artwork that actually has my signature on it. A few images will remain as “not for sale” because they are commissioned artwork that I do not have permission to profit from print sales. In addition, have three new dog acrylic paintings nearly completed that I will be adding later this week, hopefully. Yep, as you can probably tell, I’m mostly a dog painter. Some people see dead people. Well, I paint dogs. And other animals, specifically pets such as cats and horses, because I am a pet portrait artist, but dogs are my usual subject matter and the major inspiration for my artwork. Ready for a shameless plug? You can have a look at my online gallery here http://www.pencilportraits.com.au Ta-Ta for now Michelle / (that dog artist)

Wow and WooHoo! I wake up this morning to find even more fantastic changes to RedBubble, and was blown away to find my photo of “Gandalf in the Garden” on Page five in the new Popular Gallery, “The Eyes Have It” and “Reflections” both on page six and “Sand Dunes near South Mole Lighthouse” on page nine, “Elemental Power” (my favourite shot of the Albany Wind farm) on page ten. What a boost to my fragile artist’s ego:) Oh happy day!

I cant wait, / In a coulple of weeks I am traveling from where I live in Newman to Kunnanura to photograph the Australian Safari with Dirtcomp magazine. http://www.dirtcomp.com.au/ / http://www.australiansafari.com.au/ The Safari travels all the way from Kunnanura to Perth and goes through Newman about half way, so I will have about 7 days on the road and I hopeing to not just shoot motor sport, But to take in the Kimberly’s, Broom as much of the north west as I can, and cut sick with the camera!! for myself too. Cool as! Mick

Well today, as I turn 45, I landed myself a freelance, part time, call you when we need you photographer job. I start tomorrow. I’d say I’m rather pleased. All that work to get my folios together, all the crying, kicking printers, screaming at cats, dogs, spiders, dishes, and unravelling toilet paper was worth it. When I make enough money (ha ha ha) I am going to treat myself to my T-shirt … the Official Frogtographer one. I want that. I deserve that. I’m going to get it. :)

Today is a great day. What will I shoot today? Will it be the child across the street climbing the big oak tree, or his little dog barking at him? Maybe it will be the pumpkin faces wilting on the front porch. Halloween is done and Thanksgiving is almost here. Oh no, I will shoot the cat sneaking up on the little barking dog!!

Tomorrow is the day. Down come the Christmas decorations. The beautiful tree sitting in the corner has been making me smile for a month. Its lights still reflect the sparkly lights. The tree is starting to lean forward. I think it is because the cat has been jumping up playing with the bulbs. She even knocked some of the lower bulbs off. I picked them up and put them on the TV stand. I took the outside lights down today. I will miss turning them on. I will miss having the lights shine into the windows after the sun sets. They are packed away and the extension cord is in the container with them. The room will seem empty. The decorations will be in the plastic bins. So now the photographs I have taken for the last month and half will be printed and on the walls they go. I will be having fun. That camera sure is fun. Way to go!

Awoke to a frosty February morning – the perfect kind – crisp ice-white grass underfoot – the sky dressed in Caribbean Blue – the promise of Spring scenting the air….. ! Grabbed the camera – couldn’t wait to get outdoors – full of anticipation for a bag load of images in glorious technicolour! Well, that was the plan ….... First snag of the day – had the camera on the wrong setting from the evening before – set up for the purple pink of the ‘red sky at night’ shot – so didn’t get the teenage ducks flying at speed out of the hen/duck house towards me – although positioned for the perfect – ‘sun through the wings’ image that was fully formed in my half awake head! ‘Did you get it’ – my husband enquried – he had been requisitioned to open the door and let the feathered friends out in order for me to fulfill my artistic intention – ‘No’ – I replied – feeling inadequate! New first rule of photography – check settings, after checking camera is turned on and lens cover removed – the latter two also jointly important and equally easy to forget when brain is not in gear! Never mind, positive attitude on this exceptionally beautiful day – Oooh, a macro shot – ice on a feather on the ground!!! This will look excellent in Black and White….... Stoop down – everything ready – focussed ….... WAIT …... Cat face in shot – large black blur – it’s Mimi, youngest girl ‘What ARE you doing down there Mum? Can I eat it?’ I gently push her to one side and line up again…. Right, Ready, Aim ….... Now she’s bushing against my arm and purring – ever tried to take a macro shot when the camera is being jogged? I haven’t the heart to discourage her and turn to stroke her velvet head. Who needs a macro shot anyway …..!!! We stroll off towards the garden together in search of the fallen pine cones she loves to chase, pretending they are tail-less mice.
