Abstract acrylic on canvas. Inspired by daughters impression of people – heads, arms and legs with no bodies.
Not the Chinese dictator, but our lovely cat Mao :-) Here is the photo I took for reference – I am sure you’ll agree I didn’t just do a straight copy. The background is from my imagination by the way. As this seems popular I have decided to offer cards of it for sale. I have also uploaded a better scan. Who can resist these eyes? This image is a reproduction of my original color pencil painting on drafting paper of ’”Blink” a beautiful cat owned by a fellow artist. “Blink” was placed Second in the Painting – Drawing Any Subject category at the 2008 Canning Show (First Place was awarded to my colour pencil painting “We Three Kings II – Lion” and Third to “Noble” my German Shepherd Dog in charcoal (yes I was very pleased with this Hat Trick!).
Inspired by a story from the Australian TV show, ‘Animal Rescue’. A stray kitten fell six metres down a drain pipe running down the side of a building and ended up in the drain somewhere below ground level. The rescuer cut open the drain, reached down and pulled the kitten out, holding it as you see in this picture – very cute and worthy of a painting! Acrylic on Canvas Stretcher, 50×60cm, August 2007
A playful, colourful scene of a romantic, cozy, little moon-lit trattoria with my two notorious cats.

I”m too sexy for my cat, too sexy for my cat, on the catwalk baby, too sexy for my cat.
This quirky painting is of my cat Zorro and his favourite food, fresh snapper! Acrylic On Canvas, measuring 60×60cm. Just a fun painting I did earlier this year when I first thought that this would be a good time in the year when I made a decision to rekindle and embrace my creativity.
This painting is inspired by the healing elements provided by mother nature and patterns and textures from around the world. Unfortunately much of the fine detail and penwork is lost in the photograph, the original work needs to be viewed to really appreciate the beauty and detail. (Perhaps you could take the time to view the larger version..) The painting has been painted using a variety of professional artist quality mediums including water colour, inks, acrylic paint, gold leaf and shellac. Size approx 60×40cm. It seems to make a nice card, not sure about it with a black frame, though…? / although… not too bad framed. Look forward to reading your comments, Thanks as always! X C
