This is not something that I normally do but this is a photo of my cat, Charlotte. I rarely take photos of her because she always has that tortured look on her face whenever I subject her to it. I have had her for over thirteen years (I rescued her when she was three weeks old) and it is amazing how little photos I actually have of her. So once in a while I’ll do something like this. This was shot in my kitchen right in front of my patio door. It was quite sunny and so she is essentially backlit. The only post processing done is that I made a slight levels adjustment to increase the contrast and give it even more of a high key look to it. Also available on Zazzle as business card, ideal for veterinary clinics or cat hospitals

I can’t believe there is less than 250 Sumatran Tigers in the wild today, and at least 2-5 a DAY are being killed for skins and alternitive medicines. It sadens me a great deal to know this… For every framed print I sell of the 4 tiger photos I have on RedBubble, I will donate $5-$15 depending on frame size to the Wildlife Warriors – Tiger fund. This will help save the magestic animals from poachers in their native habitat. We have to help these tigers, because they can’t help themselves.. It’s up to us! Canon 50D, 800mm (400mm + 2x Tamron).

Taken in 2008 / My cat Midnight. Probably the only time she’s ever held that still for me. / And probably the only really good close up shot I’ll get of her eye. I sort of lured her in with the photography light. It was warm and so naturally she wanted to lay in front of it. I think I took this with my macro lens, but I can’t remember. © Jessica Walker

Sweetie, with one of his oldest (and most favored) toys. He’s not missing a top fang; it’s just tucked inside his upper lip…in the second following this shot all four fangs were fully-engaged but he swung his head too fast for me to focus properly.
