Mikey’s green eyes captured me as soon as he first opened them as a baby; his heart captured me during a very difficult time in my life – when my newborn son was born still. Mikey was a baby himself and he was born deaf but he knew….he knew that my heart was broken in two and he was on a mission to mend the broken pieces. Mikey followed me everywhere once I returned from the hospital and I was not alone, he slept right next me and made sure my arms were not empty. / There is no doubt in my mind that Mikey helped to pull me through that time and gave me a reason to want to wake up each day. It was the darkest time of my entire life but with Mikey and his little light, we found our way together. Mikey is six years old now, he continues to be source of support for me even today. Our lives are much happier now than they were then but nothing has changed with how he looks after me, Mikey loves me and he makes sure that I know. I took this photo on Mother’s Day 2008 and as beautiful as he may be on the outside, it doesn’t even compare to how beautiful he is on the inside. This is Mikey…...and he is my friend. 11/13/09 – 154

Gem and Twinkie think they are siblings. After a very long (and very hyper) play time they decided to be kind and pose for me. We were being lazy on the couch in my bedroom and it was one of those moments that I glanced over and saw this and ran for the camera. Such sweet babies. :o) / Twinkie is our Kitty that my son rescued from his ex-wife. This is an image of an old friend who I used to know. His name was Dukey. In this image, Dukey was sleeping and relaxing in the top level of the old dog house in my backyard. This image was one of the Finalist in the Betterphoto.com contest. Sadly, Dukey is no longer here. He passed away in November. His body may not be on this planet, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of me and my family. I used my Nikon D70s for this image.

Trawling through my old shots again!!! A few years ago we travelled to Vietnam and Cambodia. This shot is taken from Cat Ba island in Halong Bay (Vietnam) where we stopped for a few nights. Vietnam is a stunning country full of wonderful buildings, friendly people, wonderful fresh food and a relaxed way of life….bliss!!

This was my first artwork using my cat, Monkey as the ‘star’. I found a fantastic staircase reference from an old plantation house and I felt that it was asking for a curious cat. / This one hangs in a shabby looking wooden frame in my hallway. It was the first artwork I entered into a show and it won the peoples choice award. Pastel and Pencil, about 25×30cm. 2005
