Vincent’s Cat Recently I’ve been looking at Vincent Van Gogh’s paintings. I love his irises and wanted to paint some myself. Their complicated forms and brilliant deep blues captivated me. As some of you may know I have a fondness for cats. During my life I have had two exceptional ginger cats ‘Victor’ and ‘Mittens’ who were very dear to me; this is dedicated to their memory. These ‘stray’ Cats are being well looked after. Finding their new home in a small public garden they are being fed by the the people in the vicinity. Well used to strangers they continued with their nap while I clicked away with my camera!.

This was a Florida Panther that I photographed that was at the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary in Jupiter,Florida. They have such amazing beauty and their eyes are incredible. His name is Simba. I’ve altered the original image by applying the Orton Effect in PS2. / The Florida panther, Florida’s state animal, is one of the most endangered mammals on earth. It is tawny brown on the back and pale gray underneath. The Florida panther is one of 30 Puma concolor subspecies known by many names – puma, cougar, mountain lion, painter, catamount and panther. / Height 23-27 inches at the shoulder for males; females are smaller / Length 7 feet from nose to tip of tail for males; 6 feet for females / Weight males average 130 lbs; females 70-75 lbs / Lifespan 10-15 years. Population-Estimated at fewer than 100 adults and subadults in the only known breeding population (South Florida). /
