Our cat, Socks. Part monkey, part cat… she loves to climb and be up high. She spends her days on the window ledge watching the baby birds learning to forage and fly.
Stressie Cat ACEO in watercolour.
Cats have highly specialized teeth for the tearing of meat. The premolar and first molar together compose the carnassial pair on each side of the mouth, which efficiently functions to shear meat like a pair of scissors. While this is present in canids, it is highly developed in felines. The cat’s tongue has sharp spines, or papillae, useful for retaining and ripping flesh from a carcass. These papillae are small backward-facing hooks that contain keratin which also assist in their grooming. As facilitated by their oral structure, cats use a variety of vocalizations and types of body language for communication, including mewing (“meow” or “miaow”), purring, hissing, growling, squeaking, chirping, clicking, and grunting.(wikipedia.org)
This is my big guy Tucker. He’s an Occiecat or part Occie and he’s a big mushpot. He doesn’t like me to touch him ‘cause I’m apparently the alpha cat in the house so he’s kinda in awe of me. Funny though… sometimes he lets me massage his belly. Click once on image to enlarge. / / / /
“Curl Up Time” is an original Pastel and Prismacolor Pencil and Pen and Ink Drawing and is another piece from my “Custon Pet Portrait” series. / Drawn on cardstock, acid free, low tooth artist drawing paper and sprayed with a final professional protective fixitive. This is “Toi”, he came to live on our ranch in Colorado and pretty much ruled the barn cats. He even helped raise two baby raccoons. Their mother was no where to be found. One morning I went out to check on the barn population and there was “Toi” with two baby raccoons in his bed. Thanks for viewing my art. / VIEW susan’sgallery / /

Kirara : ) /
A dog sleeping on the street in Apaneca, El Salvador. I took this from a moving car, so I think it came out pretty nicely.
My boy, Clover ♥
Now Kirara is enjoying herself a cup of tea! :D
My cat looking proud in the backyard. Taken with a my Canon 50mm prime f1.4 lens which is oh so cool. This was a bit of an experiment with the adjustment brushes which are a new feature in Adobe Lightroom 2, no photoshop needed.
I think this is an important message if anyone is considering getting a cat (or any animal)...So many cats are being brought into shelters everyday, thousands a year are unwanted and one third or more do not make it! / PLEASE it is very important to get your animal spayed or neutered to cut down on the loss of so many…if the shelters can’t take anymore cats in, some people even abandon and leave their cats on the street to fend for themselves. *All proceeds of sales are donated to the Hope Animal Shelter
Today was my younger brother’s birthday, he’s now 20 years old! Since he lives with me I decided to throw him a little party..Bonnie was having lots of fun getting so much attention from his friends and playing with the balloons .

Charlie, our 4 1/2 yr old Maine Coon…deep in thought, in his dreams:)) / . / / . /
Meet Shiloh. This friendly little fellow thinks he’s the boss of our house….. well….. he might be right. Actually a very large cat, the largest of the domestic breeds in America, he’s a Maine Coon cat. / Beautiful nature, he acts more like a dog… comes when called, makes direct eye contact when you say his name….. and a great companion. / I just had to bring out the eye color with selective coloring by making the remainder black and white.
