  • This is another shot from Zebedee Springs at El Questro in the Kimberley. The thermal springs are just lovely, both for the scenery and for a warm dip! To sit and soak in these warm springs is a treat indeed and a welcome break from the red dust of the Kimberley.

This is a great walk to go and do! It’s not to hard and you see beautiful things the whole way! How to get there… Commencing from the Leura Cascades Picnic Area make your way to the information board from which you will observe a concrete pathway descending to the left. Follow the pathway as it travels beside the bubbling Leura Cascades creek. You will approach a small footbridge, at this there will be an intersection, you will note a weathered signpost indicating the direction of Leura Cascades, from this point head downhill to the Cascades. As you descend the fern covered stairs (handrails for support) to the Cascades you will hear the sounds of rushing water as the creek picks up speed. At the bottom, the Cascades are best viewed from beneath a rock cave looking back up the Cascades. A brief sidetrack can be made from the Cascades by following the path for a short distance to a lookout directly above the Bridal Veil Falls. Return to the picnic area via the same pathway.

  • Nigretta Waterfalls near Hamilton in Victoria. Late afternoon sun lighting up the face of the waterfalls.

  • Had a wedding to attend a couple of weeks ago which gave me the opportunity to find a new area too shoot. So while my wife slept in I ventured up to Mt. Baker for Dawn and this was my reward. Kulshan Ridge Reflecting in the still waters of Picture Lake near Mt. Baker

  • A spot I found a couple of years ago and decided that now would be a great time to visit given the peak fall colors. What I didn’t count on was all the blowdown from last winter which made this short journey a 2 hour scramble over and under rock and log. I think the hike was worth it! Autumn leaves line a tumbling stream as it flows over boulder and rock.

  • The headwaters of the Taggerty River starts in Melbourne’s closest ski resort, Lake Mountain. The closest town to Lake Mountain is called Marysville which is blessed with many nearby waterfalls, one of the most popular is the Taggerty River which has a circuit walk near it named after the Beeches which line part of the walk. • A detail shot of Marriners Falls, Otway National Park, Victoria. Shot with a Nikon D200, 70-200mm lens @ F/16, ISO 100, tripod, cable release. 9 shot HDR, merged/mapped in Photomatix, levels/saturation/etc in Photoshop.

  • The remote and beautiful First Creek, Errinundra Plateau, Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. I got up at 5:30am drove almost 200km much of it over mountain roads, found that the road to the start of the walk was closed so walked 6km to get to the start then walked another 3km through thick bush to get to the top of the falls where the fun really began. On the entire walk in, the sun was blazing and the few shots I took were terrible the contrast being too great to record properly but just as I reached the falls a very thick cloud layer descended offering me as good a lighting condition as is possible for this kind of photography. Below the main falls the country becomes quite steep and I climbed in and out of it until 6:00pm before walking back. I reached the track in last light then walked the 6km back before returning home getting to bed at 1:30am. A tiring but extremely satisfying day. • Simply water droplets and the patterns they make… This is condensation on a water bottle, I used my macro lens for this one and the background was my computer screen. :D Enjoy!

  • The bottom of the Upper Wattamolla Falls, Royal National Park. Can’t decide between the colour and the b/w. If you look very carefully you can see an angel in the middle of the falls in the coloured version but it disappears in the b/w – my daughter spotted it and I couldn’t see it for ages and then it just popped out at me. But I really like the contrast between the water and the rocks in the b/w so your feedback is most welcome Canon 30D Tv: 6 secs / Av: f/16 / ISO: 200 / FL: 62mm

  • Stopped at Nigretta Falls near Hamilton Victoria on our way to Melbourne last week. Nice amount of water passing over the summit at the moment thanks to recent rains. Canon 400D with 17-85 lens. CIR Polariser to help slow the flow rate. No ND filter with me (Damn!) but the overcast day helped.
