Located in Casablanca this is the 3rd largest mosque in the world. Built in the 1990s for a cost of around $500,000,000 it is big enough to house the Notre Dam or St Peter’s Basilica inside it. It can hold 25,000 people and another 90,000 in the surrounding square. It took more than 5,000 artisans to do all the fabulous carvings.

This is the first picture I took with my macro lens. I wanted it to be a fitting occassion and what could be better than naming Molly’s beautiful look after the classic film Casablanca where the phrase, “Here’s Looking At You” is etched into our memory of that unparalled film in cinematic history. On a more modern note, Blonde wrote a song, Here’s Looking At You: As I sit staring into this liquid amber, ripples move out to the edge of the glass. Is that really your reflection in there? I just wanna jump into the warm depths and be there with you, one more time! Oh, alright. Hit it boys! My initials sprayed across a pavement cut into your private interview. Talk to me now. Step into my room, we’ll have a word or two. If I ever had a million dollars and if I didn’t give it all to you would you lose interest? Show me indifference? Foot in another shoe? Not very high heels. Not wearing sneakers too. A magazine ad, a printed canvas, a basic new shade blue suede shoe. Thought I’d like to have a little party. Thought I’d like to have a little do. Sure I stopped drinking but for the moment, honey, here’s looking at you! I’ll stop my drinking (give you my promise true), clean out the closet, be existential, and cast a vote for the president too. But for the action of the moment, nothing does what it ought to do. Instant depression, I learned my lesson, nothing that I’d rather do. Come on over my place. Can’t see him sideways. Honey, here’s looking at you.

A stone’s throw from Europe, and on the tourist map for decades, Morocco has somehow managed to remain one of the world’s most exotic places.

Macro of a Casa Blanca Lily. I was wandering around a Florist shop a couple of days ago, looking for a flower to buy for the express purpose of photographing it. I got talking to the owner, a lovely lady named Pam. Her husband, as it turns out, is a keen amateur photographer also…and my Insurance Agent I figured out later! Pam told me that she was expecting more flowers in the next day that might be more along the lines of what I was looking for, but then she ducked behind a curtain, and reappeared with a beautiful white lily. She told me to take it home – no charge – and enjoy photographing it! How sweet. I am always uplifted by how truly lovely people are when you just take the time to talk and connect. So Pam from “The Flower Shop”...this is for you. I hope you like it! Canon 30D / Canon 100mmm f/2.8 Macro Lens

Man, this took ages! And I’m still not at all happy with it. But it’s the best I can do … I suck with vectors. I initially wanted to make the male character seem somewhat joker-ish, but once I’d finished that though maybe it’d be better in a more noir romance/seduction way … but I couldn’t get it to work properly. Anyway… this is what I got. Please, tell me what you think!

I started with Noir, but once I’d done that I got carried away. Vectors are, as I’ve discovered, quite addictive – stylized, abstract noir-esque ones even more so! Please, tell me what you think. Critique is good!
