  • Located in Casablanca this is the 3rd largest mosque in the world. Built in the 1990s for a cost of around $500,000,000 it is big enough to house the Notre Dam or St Peter’s Basilica inside it. It can hold 25,000 people and another 90,000 in the surrounding square. It took more than 5,000 artisans to do all the fabulous carvings.

  • Man, this took ages! And I’m still not at all happy with it. But it’s the best I can do … I suck with vectors. I initially wanted to make the male character seem somewhat joker-ish, but once I’d finished that though maybe it’d be better in a more noir romance/seduction way … but I couldn’t get it to work properly. Anyway… this is what I got. Please, tell me what you think!

  • I started with Noir, but once I’d done that I got carried away. Vectors are, as I’ve discovered, quite addictive – stylized, abstract noir-esque ones even more so! Please, tell me what you think. Critique is good!

  • A stone’s throw from Europe, and on the tourist map for decades, Morocco has somehow managed to remain one of the world’s most exotic places.

  • Macro of a Casa Blanca Lily. I was wandering around a Florist shop a couple of days ago, looking for a flower to buy for the express purpose of photographing it. I got talking to the owner, a lovely lady named Pam. Her husband, as it turns out, is a keen amateur photographer also…and my Insurance Agent I figured out later! Pam told me that she was expecting more flowers in the next day that might be more along the lines of what I was looking for, but then she ducked behind a curtain, and reappeared with a beautiful white lily. She told me to take it home – no charge – and enjoy photographing it! How sweet. I am always uplifted by how truly lovely people are when you just take the time to talk and connect. So Pam from “The Flower Shop”...this is for you. I hope you like it! Canon EOS 30D / Canon 100mmm f/2.8 Macro Lens

  • Arabic calligraphy – elegant and intricate. Fez – Morocco.

  • The dunes at Merzouga – Morocco.

  • Almost the last lilies to bloom in our garden each summer, the Casa Blancas put on a performance well worth waiting for! They are tall, lavish in their profusion, and exude a fragrance that rivals the finest perfume. They are high on my list of “keepers”! Watercolor painted on Arches 140 cold press, 21”x 14-1/2” Permission to use this image for any reason must first be granted in writing by the artist.

  • inspired by the roaring twenties…. / I wasn’t to happy with parts of it and almost ready to overpaint, when my friend Laurie recommended to do a collage instead. / This is the first time I collaged all kinds of objects (old earrings etc.)other than paper onto my painting. It was so much fun, that I continued to do so with another artwork… this painting is hanging as part of the “Cosmopolitan, Bailey’s or Midori?” An exhibition of 3 artists: Midori Furze, Laurie Mc Kern and myself taking part at the Arthouse Hotel Sydney, / May 25 to June 20. / See Invitation on ‘Sydneys Guide to Exhibitions’ mixed media on canvas / 76×101cm
