  • Pop Art is a visual art movement that emerged in the mid 1950s in Britain and in parallel in the late 1950s in the United States. Pop Art challenged tradition by asserting that an artist’s use of the mass produced visual commodities of popular culture is contiguous with the perspective of Fine Art since Pop removes the material from its context and isolates the object, or combines it with other objects, for contemplation. The concept of Pop Art refers not as much to the art itself as to the attitudes that led to it.

  • The fountain made famous by the film, A Roman Holiday, with Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant. Throw your coin in the fountain and you are sure to return to the Eternal city.

  • Anyone care to guess what this is? After being up 2 days now I’ll tell you. Its dental caries in an elephant tusk viewed through an electron microscope. It seems pretty macro to me. I wish I could paint an image like this one. I’ve had it printed out on a piece of paper for a few years and have forgotten where I got it otherwise I would credit the source.

  • Another airbrush portrait. My mum is a big fan of Cary Grant, so this one was for her. All of these were very quick (3 hours max), so they’re not as refined as my pencil drawings. I do like the airbrushed look, though. It’s something I want to get back into some day.
