An idea I had about the total rampage our lifestyle is causing the environment. / It was then solidified into an idea by a line in a song by Paul Simon. / his song “The Teacher” has a line / ”..one ate the forests and the fields, the other sucked all the moisture from the clouds, and we were amazed by the power of their appetite”...
I created this design in Illustrator, specifically to be printed on t-shirts. This character came out of months of experimentation. Since I work in the animation industry, a lot of my characters are inspired by cartoons I see on T.V. I have been drawing characters since I was a kid, constantly exploring different styles. Character design is something I find myself continually working at. This illustration for me represents my own personal growth as an artist and the reality that I will never reach an end destination, and that my art is a journey where I am constantly learning, experiencing and seeing new things. I guess I never want to stop seeing life like a kid does…
