A Mien woman carries her baby on her back, secure in an exquisitely embroidered baby carrier. Mien women are masters of cross-stitch embroidery and spend much of their spare time stitching designs on their pants and on baby carriers and caps. Mien or Yao originated in China but over the past few centuries have migrated to Vietnam, Laos and northern Thailand where this photograph was taken. Nikon FM2, kodachrome slide film.
Number 3 in the Rugged Rig Series. This classic Peterbilt is painted yellow on white. The skull and bones license plate was a real nice touch on this rig.
The Grumman TBF Avenger was a torpedo bomber developed initially for the United States Navy and Marine Corps, and eventually used by several air or naval arms around the world. It entered U.S. service in 1942, and first saw action during the Battle of Midway. I am pretty excited about presenting this #5 in the Rugged Rig Series. I have put a lot of work into this first set and it has certainly been worth every bit of effort. I have one more accompaniment piece to do for one of the rigs and this set will be complete. Look for the next set of 5 to come. This is one of the Twin Kens. It is the one on the left if you are wondering. I will not be doing an accompaniment to this (at least I don’t think I will :-)), because I did the special piece this guy. I think the Twin image will suffice for that. Just a note to anyone who may be interested in absolutely usless trivia. The prodominent colors for semi-trucks in the Salt Lake City, Utah area seems to be… yep you guessed it… red and white.

The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk is a carrier-capable ground-attack aircraft designed for the United States Navy and U.S. Marine Corps. The delta winged, single turbojet-engined Skyhawk was designed and produced by Douglas Aircraft Company, and later McDonnell Douglas. It was originally designated the A4D under the US Navy’s pre-1962 designation system. Fifty years after the aircraft’s first flight, and having played key roles in the Vietnam War, the Falklands War, and the Yom Kippur War, a few of the nearly 3,000 Skyhawks produced remain in service with several air arms around the world, including active duty on the aircraft carrier of the Brazilian Navy / (Wikipedia) Best viewed large This is a 3D Digital image. ..a zodiac signz video – Your element: Air / Your ruling planets: Uranus / Symbol: The Water Bearer / Your stone: Amethyst / Life Pursuit: To understand life’s mysteries / Vibration: High frequency / Aquarian’s Secret Desire: To be unique and original Aquarius The Sun is in Aquarius between about 20th January and 18th February. / If the Sun was in Aquarius when you were born, you are probably a friend to all the world. Not only do you love mixing in parties, but you really care about the environment and the world at large. You’ll make sure that your household recycles everything, ...you can lose your cool without warning if they don’t…and you’ll love any gadget that will make the world a greener place. This is partly because you love gadgets anyway; you might even invent your own! When it comes to getting involved though, either with people or any venture that needs commitment, you’ll fade charmingly and politely, but rather vaguely, into the background. / Like those born with Sagittarius Rising, if you have Aquarius as your Ascendant you too will walk out into the world with your head high…but in your case it is up in the clouds and your mind is far away. Detached to the point of aloofness, your mind is concerned with high ideals, but you prefer to stand apart from close relationships, and you don’t like strong feelings in others or even yourself. Beware, though! You’re not that cool. You can explode without warning or go into a huge sulk if your dignity is threatened. .....
