by Carrie GlennIt’s exciting….it’s a feeling of accomplishment…
It’s exciting….it’s a feeling of accomplishment…and it’s an adventure to have shared my works with well over 20,000 people and counting!!! / It’s also an honor to me to be able to share my art and communicate with each of you. It’s wonderful to find commonalities in people and even friends in places like New Zealand, China, Australia, England, Ireland, Africa, The States and everywhere in-between! / Each of us and our forms of art are so different and unique and yet we are more alike than we might know. On our stage known as RedBubble we unite and create a much larger work of art…a living work of art! We have a beautiful community of people here who share a common thread of the love of words, lines, colors, thoughts, shapes, dreams and the passion for expression. The passion for art! Some of the highlights along my journey… My portrait of Vincent Price has had over 3,500 views…won the “Human Emotion” award and been featured in the Pencil Drawing group. / My piece A Fish Out of Water was featured on the Homepage and within a matter of weeks has had over 1,200 views! / / My work First Tree has the most canvas print sales to date which surprises and delights me. / The collaboration work I have done has been a great experience and really fun to work on, here are a few examples… Angel / Collaboration with Mark Peterson / Urban Angel / Collaboration with Alan Sloley / Time Flies When You’re Having Fun Collaboration with Dogbreath / Abigail’s Friends / Written collaboration with Tony Hedger / My series, Off To Fairyland, is in the process of being turned into a Children’s book along with Abigail’s Friends! / / Off To Fairyland / Deep In The Woods So thank you…sincerely…thank you…to each of you who took the time to view my work, comment on my work and purchase my work. My art work is the pathway in this life that I have chosen to make a living and really is my life; in each piece is a bit of me. / So thanks for supporting and embracing me and my passions.

The Big 30! Today
by Carrie Glenn/ *The Big 30…30,000 views!!! WOW! I’m feeling old!...
/ The Big 30…30,000 views!!! WOW! I’m feeling old! LOL! No really, it’s great…no actually it’s fantastic! Thank you to each and every one who has become a part of my life, my views and even my artwork itself. Here are some of my favorite highlights since the last ten thousand miles… The biggest news I probably have to announce is the publishing of my artwork in “Artists of The West” book! It is a true milestone for me and a great personal success. It was an amazing project to be involved in and over a three year journey. I ended up making some great friends and contacts along the way and really bonded with everyone involved in the book. / After the release of the book there was some really exciting events to follow like the first book signing in St. Helens with the official release. / I am also doing a public book signing, autographs and a special unveiling of three of my new paintings at the Astoria Sunday Market later this month. The Astoria Sunday Market / / (Feel free to shoot me an e-mail if you’re interested or would like more information on the event) Also I am VERY excited to be a part of the RedBubble Rialto Towers art exhibit ironically also on July 27th the same date of my book signing in Astoria, Oregon! My work First Tree was chosen along with 40 other works of art to show in the foyer of the Rialto Towers for a two week art show! I am honored and thrilled to be showing my work alongside the other amazing artists and my RedBubble friends! I was also a part of some wonderful collaborations My collaboration piece Through The Past To The Future with my friend Michael Gatch was a total success and incredibly fun! It was inspired by his photo Through The Past / We had such a good time we did another one… / Apple Harvest which was inspired by Michael’s photo Old Apple When I looked at this work I saw the tree as the point of life that was celebrated and brought people and family together. I wanted to I take it back in time or to another time perhaps. I also had a fantastic collaboration with my dear friend Paul Hobday / I was really inspired by his photo Twisted and had a vision of what eventually became…The Other Side Of The Fence my newest work. Again THANK YOU to each of you who took the time to view my work, comment on my work and invest into me and my career. My art work is the road in this life that I have chosen to make a living on and really…it is my life. In each painting or drawing I create I try to leave a bit of myself to be shared with another person. / Thank you so much for supporting and embracing me and one of my true loves…art!

This Journal started out as a request for help with a contract, (Thanks George!) “Hey I was wondering if anyone currently has a good consignment contract they are using or can reccomend? If so maybe you could post it or b-mail me with it? I am looking for one more fashioned for a retailer rather than a gallery” There was little to no response…and after seeing this journal favorited several times with no comments I realized there must be quite a few people who are also looking for help in this area. So I did my own research and wrote / customized an existing contract of my own for a retail sales situation. There are now two contracts posted here for your use. Just change the pertinent details to fit your needs. Feel free to post any current consignment contracts you are using to help others Enjoy these and hopefully they help! xoxo

Together We Make Beautiful Music...
by Carrie Glenn/ Some or probably most of you by now have se…
/ Some or probably most of you by now have seen Anthony Hedger’s (to his friend’s known as Tony) face pop up on your artwork. He often generously spreads his good cheer and gracious compliments to one and all. I remember the first time he discovered my work, he was one of the first people to comment on over half of my work at one time!!!! / It was moving to me and it changed the way I operated here. As in…It was contagious!! I found myself doing the same thing. Stopping and looking through an entire gallery in one sitting. It is really quite fun. It doesn’t take that much time if you just zone everything else out…and I’m sure it means a lot to individuals receiving them. It did to me ;) Today Tony wrote a short story for my artwork Abigails Friends and he did a great job on it. When inspiration hit’s that man it just flows out of him! (It is still under construction so bare with us…i.e. punctuation, grammar) / It is such a nice companion to my work, that it made me think of that saying…..”Together We Make Beautiful Music”. So I wanted to share this with everyone and post it on my site in case you didn’t get a chance to read his work….which he has plenty of to check out!!! If you feel so inspired check out some of his other work; it will be sure to entertain you and drop him a comment or two if it does!!! “Abigail’s Friends” / Written By Anthony Hedger / Artwork By Carrie Glenn Abigail’s Friends art work by Carrie Glenn – words by Anthony Hedger Abigail was seven years old today but her parents were too busy to spend time with her. / “Why not go for a walk?” Her father asked. / “But I wanted to spend time with you both.” She said getting just a little annoyed that they couldn’t be bothered again. / “You know we have to work Abbie?” Her father said walking out of the room to fix his tie in the hall mirror. / Abigail hated to be called Abbie. / “Don’t call me Abbie.” She shouted after him going red in the face. “Use my full name the one I have been christened with or none at all.” And with that she stormed out of the house not even looking at her mother slamming the front door behind her. She started walking towards the woods and soon forgot about her parents and sang her happy song and skipped along the small path and went inside the woods. / A small orange butterfly fluttered by her and landed on her shoulder. / “Oh hello.” She said to the butterfly. “Isn’t it a lovely day?” / “The best one this year Abigail, where are you going?” / “Oh, no where special, just out for a walk to get out of the house.” / “Can I join you?” / “Oh course you can little one.” / And she carried on singing and skipping with the butterfly bouncing up and down on her shoulder but he sang along with her. / They came to a clearing in the woods about fifteen minutes later and she stopped dead in her tracks. / “I think we better go back now.” She whispered to the butterfly. / “Why?” The butterfly asked. “It’s only my friends and they are having a special tea party just for you, come on and I’ll introduce you to them.” / “Er, ok, if you think I’ll be alright?” / “Of course you’ll be alright.” The red fox called to her. “Come on your tea is getting cold.” / So for the next two hours Abigail sat with Mr. Fox, Mr. Bear, Miss Rabbit, Ms. Blue bird and a hundred different butterflies and had tea and cake and chatted as though she had known them all her life. She gave each of them a big, big hug after and thanked them for making this the best birthday ever. / “Er, just before I do go home, how did you know it was my birthday anyway?” / “You could say a little bird told us.” The bear said gently and they all began to laugh. The End

Who's The New Oasis Mouth Model?
by Carrie Glenn!http://images-1.redbubble.net/img/art/size:ularg…
Okay that would be me! I was asked and very reluctantly took the job for posing for some shots for a medical technology company named “Oasis”. No…I’m not putting a pregnancy test in my mouth although I kept laughing as I was being photographed because it sure looked like one. / Actually it’s a saliva collector! Really cool. It’s a new way of collecting saliva in the medical industry, quickly easily and safely. The shots are being used on a medical website. / Anyway…it’s kind of an odd thing for me as I do not model or anything but hey if random jobs come up that pay money, I’m in! ;D Just sharing my weird venture into the many projects I’ve been involved in lately. ...although it’s not the weirdest job lately….I actually had a request from a gentleman who tried some of my homeade beef strogonoff, that if I could make him a batch a month he would pay me. / Of course I’m going to cause that’s a great story to tell future kids…”at one point I was actually making stroganoff and modeling with pregnancy tests in my mouth!!”... ??? ;D “Will work for food….” apparently I “Will make food for food!” LOL! XOXO

The Newest Unveiling From Carrie Glenn Studios
by Carrie Glenn!http://images-3.redbubble.net/img/art/framecolor:mocha/framestyle:flat30/mattecolor:black/product:framed-print/size:medium/view:preview/...
I am proud to unveil my newest creation titled Coy Kiss / I have been working on this over the last several months and have finally birthed it as of last night. There are many layers and texture. This painting literally changes and comes alive in different lighting. I used acrylic and some other mediums to slow the drying process. After it was done I finished the water in my painting with gloss varnish in certain areas to achieve water highlights…so it actually appears like the water is real…and perhaps that there is even movement in it. This is a special piece to me, there is a lot of symbolism and beauty in Koi fish to me. Also I am drawn to fish in general and life in water. / The bright contrasting colors and dead space of this work is what attracted me to it in the first place. I want to say a special “Thank You” to Rebecca Cruz who let me paint her photo titled Koi As I was creating the name for it, the play on words for “Coy” just kept coming to my heart. Thus “Coy Kiss”! / There is a written work from Venus and Adonis by William Shakespeare, that I chose to describe my work. I feel it perfectly captures my heart for this piece and the moment… ...”Never did passenger in summer’s heat / More thirst for drink than she for this good turn. / Her help she sees, but help she cannot get; / She bathes in water, yet her fire must burn: / ‘O! pity,’ ‘gan she cry, ‘flint-hearted boy: / ‘Tis but a kiss I beg; why art thou coy?”... It was a wonderful piece to work on and I put a lot of myself into it…hopefully you can feel that coming through to you. / To check it out and leave a comment click here Enjoy! xoxo

CD Cover Project - Rebecca Hardiman Solo Album
by Carrie Glenn!http://images-2.redbu…
The front and back of the CD Booklet The back CD insert And Here Are Some Product Shots of the Cd / My work is featured in the group Woman Appreciation / (Thanks Jerame and Hello Kitty101) I designed this CD cover for a client who is establishing herself as a solo jazz singer after a long career of being in a jazz group since the early 80’s. Rebecca is still recording a few tracks but will be releasing her debut album this year or early next year. The style of her new CD is big band with all the brass and winds! After a photo shoot with over 650 shots, many wardrobe and lighting changes, I narrowed it down to the images shown here. On to Photoshop to design the cover and layout my work. / I designed this cover to really portray my clients best features and attributes and to express her style accordingly. Her bold flair and love for music was as important as expressing her faith. I tied all of that together for her through this design. Enjoy!

I am honored to have my newest design The Journey and the Battle featured on the Home Page today. It’s a piece I am very excited about or rather that I’m passionate about. There is a battle for all of us and this design is a reminder to me to keep going, keep fighting and keep standing up for what is right. Also in this work the knight may be surrounded by fire but he is not harmed by it. Sometimes things seam more overwhelming than they really are at first glance but it is never worth giving up the fight for what is right…Truth, Justice and Freedom. Thanks RedBubble and to all of my friends and fans!

Logo and Branding Project (Taking It To The Public)
by Carrie GlennBefore After !http://images-0.redbubble…
Before After Here’s my original painting before I converted it to a vector in Photoshop I want to share a project I am working all of my friends here at RedBubble. / I am re-designing a logo and creating a new branding for a local salon. / They are a “Vidal Sassoon” salon and pride themselves in having cutting edge techniques and skills. / I painted the logo, after eight or so pages of brush strokes and sitting on it a day I was drawn to the shape you see here. I photographed it and converted it to a vector in Photoshop. / Not only did the logo look like the word “In” from the companies name “In Color Salon” but it also seamed to look like flowing hair and or hair die. It ties together everything I want to convey for my client. The pop of the terracotta color combined with the blue circle is unique and eye catching to me. My customers really wanted a feminine yet bold and organic to their new identity. / It’s unique enough that they can grow with it and it can grow with them. Here are three different proposed web site comps. for the front page of the site design. Comp. 1 Comp. 2 Comp. 3 Also here is a mock up of what it will look like on their current signs. I would love to get your feedback so thanks for taking a look at this with me. I’m having a blast working on it! So what do you guys think? Take care! Xoxo

The Little Mermaid Story, Thank you Glen Keane
by Carrie Glenn/ !http://www.jimhillmedia.com/mb/images/upload/Sierr…
/ When I was eight years old, in1988, I lived in Hollywood, Ca on a Movie Camp. It’s a LONG story but to keep it short my father was producing a movie at the time, an 80’s teenager in trouble sort of movie. I did actually meet a few actors, one that I still remember is Robin Lively, the red head from I believe the third Karate kid. She was really nice, so nice my little brother fell in love with her, at six, he was sure she would be his girlfriend. LOL / She was actually in the movie my father was working on, which never did end up getting produced. Too bad because I’m actually in it!!!! Haha…okay well maybe that is a good thing. / Well my father in one his many crazy escapades also met one of the animators of an, up-and-coming at the time, Disney cartoon, The Little Mermaid, Glen Keane. I was an aspiring artist at the time; drawing relentlessly. I even carried around my little box of colored pencils and different pens everywhere drawing pictures and portraits for people on the spot. It was my thing and way of sharing something with people. Well my father told Glen about me, to this day I’m not sure what, except that I loved drawing and mermaids. Both very true facts. Maybe my Dad showed him a few of my drawings, which I’m sure would have caused a few chuckles, I liked to exaggerate features. if I perceived you as fast, you might have three to four legs, and I liked to make up animals. My favorite back then was an ostrich-lama. I drew them all the time and told people they were real. Well Glen, was touched for some reason and quickly sketched the above drawing of the character of “Ariel” The Little Mermaid and dedicated it to me, with a verse from the Bible, he was a Christian. / I remember when my father brought it home for me that night and I saw it for the first time. First of all I was stunned with the fact I was actually getting a present but also I thought it was the most beautiful drawing I had seen…and the fact that it had MY NAME written on it made it the most valuable treasure I owned. I quickly procured the help of my Mother in putting it in a frame. The best frame in the house, it quickly replaced whatever bad print hung on our 80’s decorated apartment just had to go. I hung it high on my bedroom wall and would just stare in awe at the special drawing that was created just for me. I studied every detail. / I remember thinking, Glen gave me that verse…it’s for me. I then immediately rushed to go look it up in our Bible….I was so excited to see what special secret message it said for me… / James 1:17….”Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” / Ooooh and that was for me. This “Gift” was for me and I really felt my art would be my gift as well. That drawing as simple as it was, to me was from the biggest celebrity there could be, a REAL artist working for Disney! / It still hangs high on my wall in the original frame snagged from my Mother’s decor. It sits above my drafting table staring down at me through every portrait and drawing I create and complete. The drawing and message it holds influence me to this day. / It’s simple words of encouragement at key times in our lives that have the biggest impact. A kind word, a gift even. A gift that can leave a fingerprint on our spirits. It left a finger print on mine. So “Thank You” Glen Keane. ...and to any aspiring artists just remember the words he told me from James 1:17 and may they bring you encouragement and happiness too. God Bless!
