The center “crown” of the magnolia blossom is made up of “carples” and stamen that are absolutely beautiful on the first day of the bloom. This photo was taken with a Canon EOS 10D with a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro prime lens. The shutter speed was 1/45th sec at f/11, no flash. The camera’s ISO was set to 400. A Manfrotto tripod was used on a ladder (try that sometime) with a remote shutter release. Your comments are always welcome!
