This horse reminded me of the 1950’s, when every little boy dressed like Roy Rogers and packed a six gun. I even had a Dale Evans outfit. It was the day of the cowboy shows. I can close my eyes and see my brother with his cowboy hat, chaps, and a pair of pearl handled “Shootin’ Irons”. Of course, those irons only shot caps, but smoke came out the barrel, and there was a delicious acrid smell. We burned through rolls of caps, it was a magical part of childhood. This caruosel is located in City Park, Pueblo, Colorado and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
