Collaboration with Andy Mueller This is one of the areas that inspired me to try my hand at photography. Who can complain of an hour drive to work with views like this? Converted to HDR and post processed by fellow Bubbler Andy Mueller. Thanks Andy! Check out Andy’s work here I am overwhelmed by the response to this shot. To the point of unable to reply a thank you individually. I will check out your work and leave a comment there:) Thank you ALL for your kind comments:)...and taking the time to scroll down to add them. Much appreciated. For the fans who like straight out the camera shots… /
This dreamy glade in Pisgah National Forest, North Carolina, gave me the feeling of being in two worlds at once – the “normal” world we live in and also a world filled with faeries, gnomes and is that a troll hiding in the forest?? I added the Orton effect with PhotoShop to give it an even more dream-like quality and enhanced the colors. This was taken in the early morning hours just after the sun rose. WHat particularly drew me to this scene were the patterns of light and shadow on the rocks and leaves. Taken on an Autumn afternoon in Jacob’s Fork River, South Mountain State Park, NC. Figuring out a way to get from one slippery and mossy rock to another in order to take the photo was a real challenge too-especially carrying tripod and camera equipment. / Nikon D50, 42mm,F22 ,2 sec / /
HDR image, Whalehead Hunt Club, Currituck, NC. Different angle, rocking chairs overlooking the Currituck Sound. Why don’t you pull up a chair and enjoy the view, smell and sound over a glass of fresh squeezed lemonade? / Click on thumbnail below for the full view of this beautiful place. / My art with 1000+ views
So I recently returned back to one of my favorite sites to photograph. This is the Whalehead Hunt Club in Currituck, North Carolina. Currituck Lighthouse is also visible on the left. This particular morning was just beautiful, very rare to have hardly any wind coming across Currituck Sound. The reflection turned out awesome, in my opinion. Image has been processed through Redynamix for the HDR look and also had the Orton effect applied. Best viewed in large. / Image made with tripod mounted Nikon D200, Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8, remote shutter release.

This is one of my favorite shots taken during a camping venture to Carolina Beach. The trip was specifically planned to wake up early and take picture of the beautiful sunrise. I had no idea the pictures would turn out so gorgeous. I cannot wait to return to attempt to once again capture the beauty and splendor of the sunrise over the ocean. The beach is like my second home, it’s my place to get away, relax, and reflect on life. Media: Photography / Camera used: Fujifilm Finepix Z10fd / Editing software used: picnik.com
What can I say … Sometimes it all does come together perfect. I absolutely love how this turned out, hope you do as well. Image made with a Nikon D200 And Tokina 12-24mm lens. Slight touch of HDR post processing applied, converted to Sepia Tones in Adobe Digital Lightroom.
Another morning on the way to work….very happy to have the camera beside me. The clouds appeared to be on fire. taken Launch Landing, Currituck North Carolina.
One of those mornings when a photographers’ dream seems to fulfill itself. A few of you sure will “see” right through the title on this image. One of my alltime favorite places to photograph, the Whaleheadhunt Club in Currituck, NC. Best viewed in Large format.
Nikon D50 / Tamron 28- 300 lens This little tree just doesnt seem to grow much but yet it always appears to be standing so tall and proud of its home. Most times the water is ver near the limbs as he is not quite tall enough to clear the water line most days. I have named him my Little Warrior… Im gonna keep my eye on him:)
Went on an ederhostel trip to the waterfalls of the Northwest corner of South Carolina, took a bunch of pictures, did a lot of walking. Taken with a Nikon D70 on October 17, 2008.
Someone suggested I take my most popular image on Red Bubble / and fractualize it…this is what I ended up with. Thank you Bubble friend.
Totally exhausted from it’s long journey (Grand Canyon to North Carolina), this duck just barely managed to drag itself onto the beach to rest. Note the similarities to this Duck spotted at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon: /
On January 17, 2009, after very cold temps the night before, I joined the many photographers huddle together taking pictures of Looking Glass Falls in Pisgah Forest, North Carolina. I’ve never seen these falls so icy!! To make the picture more dramatic, I layered another close-up image of ice and blended onto the rock face using PhotoShop. ICE WORLD WAS FEATURED IN THE WATERFALL PHOTOGRAPHY, SEASONAL SCAPES AND ALL OF NORTH CAROLINA GROUPS IN FEBRUARY, 2009!!! THANK YOU MODERATORS AND FRIENDS!!!
The title is borrowed from Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony. / This photo was taken near Mt. Mictchell in the Blue RIdge Mountains of North Carolina.I particularly liked the late afternoon light and shadows . Nikon D50, cp filter, HDR /
Captured this am getting ready to leave for work. I loved how the end rocks (point) of Bell’s Island, NC looked like an arrow pointing at the intercoastal waterway. I debated removing the old duck blind in the distance…but decided it should stay.
for such a small bird, the wen has a very powerful voice, and they are full of vinegar and pep! this fellow doesn’t back down from ny of the other birds at the pole feeder
The harbor at sunset in Charleston, South Carolina. On the other side of the harbor is Battery Park which became a public park in 1837 and is a beautiful place to stroll through large oak trees. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Please do not copy or download this image. Bodie Lighthouse Interior (Looking Up) “Of all the early North Carolina lighthouses, the Bodie Island Lighthouse had the rockiest beginnings. Disagreements over the location delayed the building of the first lighthouse for ten years. After one year, one side was a foot lower than the other causing the lamp to stop functioning; attempts to prop up the lighthouse were unsuccessful. So, in 1859 a 90-foot-high brick tower was built as a new Bodie Island Lighthouse. In the early years of the Civil War, this lighthouse was controlled by Union troops. However, in 1861, Confederate troops slipped into the lighthouse and blew it up. The current Bodie Island Lighthouse was built in the model of the Cape Lookout Lighthouse, except for having an exposed granite base. Even this lighthouse had a difficult beginning. Soon after it began operation in 1872, a flock of geese flew against the light, breaking glass panes and damaging the lens. Today, the lighthouse is part of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. The lighthouse itself is not open, but the old keeper’s house is open as a visitor’s center and museum.” Information was obtained from the NC Division of Tourism “
Reflections of Fall leaves on Lake Susan in North Carolina with two swans enjoying the water and the late afternoon sun.
There is a special place just off the Blue Ridge Parkway where you can climb these stairs to a beautiful overlook. The best times seem to be when the mist is moving in over the mountains. This picture is dedicated to Annie and Jean – my sisters who have climbed these stairs with me!! Taken in Western North Carolina. I used the PhotoShop Orton effect to give this picture an even more dreamy texture. Featured in Southern Style: A Downhome Perspective – June 11, 2009!
