Three Panels, graduated colour ink with roll up. / / Original Art Work / Collagraph on BFK Rives 280gsm / 57.5×47cm This print was a product of a very long process of producing a suitable collagraphic plate, experimenting with colours and the gradations of them. Applying a roll up and printing. Finally I divided the original plate into three panels and incorporated all I had learnt before to produce the image above. / This image was a journey for me and it was certainly a journey I enjoyed taking. / / More of my Works /

Dolly is a commissioned illustration and a potential tattoo! From Wikipedia: / “Dolly Dimples” is a traditional name for large ladies who once made their living with freak shows at circuses and carnivals. The most famous “Dolly Dimples” was Celesta Geyer, who was billed as “The World’s Prettiest Fat Girl” and “The World’s Most Beautiful Fat Lady”. She sported dimples an inch deep at each elbow. About her diet / After surviving a near fatal heart attack in 1950, Dolly followed a strict 800 calorie per day diet and in little more than a year she reduced her weight to 112 pounds, maintaining the loss for the rest of her life. She regained her health and became an avid advocate of dieting and exercise. Dolly’s weight loss was recognised as a world record by the Guinness Book of World Records. / I guess I feel sort of betrayed by “Dolly”, she was so gorgeous as a sideshow fat lady! This image was taken during Carnivale in San Marco square in Venice. The image captures the allure and unique display that can be found in the costumes and masks during this festival.
This ACEO / miniature art was completed in coloured pencil and ink on drafting film. The reference photo for this artwork was taken by Simon.Monk (flickr creative commons) and was used with his kind permission. I have always had a fascination for the mystique and beauty of the Venetian Carnivale Masks and, in particular, the Jester masks and would like to do a series of artworks on this fascinating theme. This particular artwork will be the subject of a tutorial on coloured pencil and ink drawing on drafting film on my website at http://www.miniatureartbykhull.com/tutorial_ii_21.html.

The Adelaide Eye, as we called it.. a not so giant ferris wheel, located across the road from our apartment in Glenelg, where we stayed over the weekend. I’ve always wanted to capture a ferris wheel, never had the chance to do it until this moment. Desaturated this one and added a texture from www.deviantart.com to achieve a more vintage look.
