  • This shot was taken with a Canon AE1 35mm camera about 15 years ago and scanned into the computer. Then I tweaked it a little in Photoshop Elements 5 High on top of Carn Brea (700 feet above sea level) you will find Carn Brea Castle which looks out at some stunning views of the surrounding countryside of Cornwall. Redruth, Brea, Carnkie and Camborne are a few of the towns near by. The Castle itself can be traced back to 1379. It is a stone twin towered fortress, built by the Bassett family and is inside the ramparts of the Iron Age hill fort. It was probably built has a hunting lodge, or as a chapel to St Michael. It has been restored and extended over the years, and today has the look of a modern folly, rather than a medieval fort. The views from this spot are splendid, and you can see for miles on a bright evening. / All the Materials Contained May Not Be Reproduced, Copied, Edited, Published, Transmitted or Uploaded In Anyway Without My Permission. • Taken from above the ski-centre at Glenshee, looking down the mountain (between the Cairnwell and Carn Aosda) at Carn an Tuirc and Sron na Gaoithe – two beautifully smooth rounded eroded mountains with quartzite tops in the middle-distance. Taken on the Hasselblad, using Lucky film, re-toned afterwards.

  • Late afternoon during the last week of March , looking towards the Irish Townlands of Nethertown and Churchtown with a view of Carne Bay in the distance. The colours were just waiting to be captured before the sun went down along the Wexford coastline. Pentax K10d / 1/350sec @ f6.7 / Focal length 18mm / ISO 100

  • Taken approx 200 yards from my holiday cottage last week, in Carne Cornwall, overlooking Gillan Creek.

  • Traditional Cornish cob cottage, close to sequestered waters of Gillan Creek, south of Helford River. Plum trees and rambling roses grow up its front wall. The front stable-door opens onto the lane. Across the lane, there is garden and small stream. Half a mile away is unspoilt village of Manaccan, with church, shop and thatched roofed pub called the New Inn, and excellent restaurant called South Café which serves local fish and seafood amongst other tasty dishes.

  • This was taken near Lands End (Cornwall UK) from the top of Carn Brea hill which is about as high as you can get in that neck of the woods. Not to bad a climb ; gammy leg didn’t protest at all and the view over the far west of Cornwall is stunning. A must visit if you are down this way. . / / . / . / . /
