A well known landmark on Aspen Island in Canberra, Australia. While visiting Canberra recently I saw some old Max Dupain shots of the Carillon and other Canberra landmarks. Generally, the Carillon is not that interesting a building though Dupain took some imaginative shots of it in monochrome that inspired me to look for unusual angles and shoot it myself. Here is one of the resulting shots. Ever wondered what a Carillon actually is?. I did for some time, and found it is actually a specific type of bell tower. This one was a gift from the UK to Australia celebrating 50 years of Canberra.

Ona trip to the Australian Capital, I passed the Carillion, a belltower donated by the people of Great Britain. Situated on a small island on Lake Burley Griffin the white tower made a nice counterpoint to the blue sky and Autumn colours.
