  • Looking Up
    by Nate Owens

    US$17.81–US$95.00

This digital painting of a cowboy in a predicament is published by a national company as a greeting card and other gift products (mugs, magnets, t-shirts, etc.) The card has a verse inside “hope things are looking up,” a satirical greeting of hope and well wishes to anyone going through tough times. Whether in a western setting, humorous or serious, it is a look at the way life sometimes puts us at odds with seemingly impossible situations… you either laugh or cry, and pray like crazy. Now available as a print. Nate Owens / My Web Site

  • I did this as a 2D cartoon many years ago so suppose it qualifies for that group, just.. I thought it would make a good subject for a humorous carving. It was quite easy, I just cut away anything that didn’t look like a scarecrow. Walnut about 8” high.

  • Ah, what the heck! I normally restrict myself to putting no more than two images on RB per day, but thought I’d push my luck. This is my caricature of my favourite painter of animals, flowers and people, a lady of fantastic talent, Barbara Keith. If you have not yet discovered her remarkable work the do yourself a favour and take a long look.

  • School workshop
    by Brian Towers

    US$3.42–US$91.20

When teaching, I used cartoon characters a lot with the kids as it got them interested enough to come back for more homework. The main two were Olive Twigg and Joe Pudsley. This is one of many where Joe is in the bad books. Needless to say Olive was saintly. Pen and wash.
