sunset and palm tree
A composite of the American flag and a morning sunrise over the Caribbean. The American flag was shot locally and is actually a huge flag flying over a local merchant’s business. It’s an amazing sight when it ripples in the wind. This is similar to my icon and is being posted by special request from a RedBubbler wanting to see a larger version. The main difference between my icon and this image is the direction the flag is positioned. I prefer the flag blowing to the right.
Cancun is an unusual city in that it is surrounded by water but is not an island. The resorts are on a narrow strip of land that leads up to Cancun. Every direction you look there is water. The Caribbean is a bright blue color with strips of green. The beaches are a white sand that always feels cool to your feet. / This image is made up of 5 images with a 1 stop change in each, and merged into a HDRI by Photomatrix.

Taken in Cancun, Mexico at the Royal Sands Resorts. What can I say, the water was warm, the weather was perfect and the sand is this amazing white color that doesn’t seem to get hot. This is one of my favorite places to relax while I am on my vacation.

The sun and clouds paint the sky as the day comes to an end in Negril, Jamaica. This was at the beach at Couples Negril on Bloody Bay, a gorgeous calm turquoise bay with glorious sunsets. My husband and I took a brief childless trip to the adults-only, all-inclusive Couples Negril in Jamaica last February. We ate a lot of tasty food, indulged in some adult beverages, went on a catamaran cruise, relaxed on the beach, and snorkeled – me for the first time! The grounds were lush and tropical, and the beautiful white sand beach was on a calm bay with turquoise water. And of course the sunsets were amazing! On the second day we were in Punta Cana, a storm rolled in and eventually turned the horizon black. This was taken about an hour before but the warning of wind, rain and darkness were already present in the early afternoon.
