I just took this picture on a hike out on Dungeness Spit. I was disappointed because the weather didn’t cooperate and it was a hazy day at best but as we were hiking up back to the car I caught this glimpse through a natural perfect porthole in the trees :) /

Yay!! it’s Drawing Day! Thought i’d submit this for the drawing day.. I’ve been working on digitising this piece, hoping to finish it by my birthday.. but it seems like i won’t be able to make it on time. So i thought i’d introduce this piece to everyone first on this wonderful Drawing Day~ =D Here’s Tim and me posing together for the first time.. hehe.. yea, i love to wear cargo pants.. hehe.. love all the pockets!! XD But yea, i think i look nothing like myself in the drawing.. i think the drawing is cuter than me.. but hey, it’s anime style, of course it’s cuter than me.. i hope.. While driving into the setting sun towards Bristol TN, I noticed this ominous looking sky in the rear view mirror. Searching for a suitable subject, I came across this Peterbilt Truck, which looked like it just returned home from a long haul. Light HDR processing applied.

Sunset shortly after taking off from Fayetteville Arkansas. The colors may seem oversaturated, but that’s pretty much what it really looked like. All I did was a minor level adjustment to darken the engine and clouds. I also selectively added a small amount of contrast to the clouds by themselves.

Number 3 in the Rugged Rig Series. This classic Peterbilt is painted yellow on white. The skull and bones license plate was a real nice touch on this rig.

Douglas DC-3 without wording Pencil on 14×17 Strathmore drawing medium 80lb. paper sprayed with lacquer. United airlines DC-3 makes ready for flight. The DC-3 was built in the 1930’s and is still flying today. Updates to avionics and engines have been made, but the basic airframe has been left alone. Just goes to show that it is truly hard to improve on a perfect design that meets so many requirements or fills so many demands. Cheers to Mr. Douglas!

I am pretty excited about presenting this #5 in the Rugged Rig Series. I have put a lot of work into this first set and it has certainly been worth every bit of effort. I have one more accompaniment piece to do for one of the rigs and this set will be complete. Look for the next set of 5 to come. This is one of the Twin Kens. It is the one on the left if you are wondering. I will not be doing an accompaniment to this (at least I don’t think I will :-)), because I did the special piece this guy. I think the Twin image will suffice for that. Just a note to anyone who may be interested in absolutely usless trivia. The prodominent colors for semi-trucks in the Salt Lake City, Utah area seems to be… yep you guessed it… red and white.
