The beautiful young girl wrapped her arms around the man that had helped her climb out of desparation. He was old and rugged, yet as she stroked his crusty old face she knew that she would be safe in his arms till she could stand alone. Its duty for the day is over. The Sun is now slowly retiring behind the Hills. As a last farewell, and a token of affection, its last rays lovingly caress the tops of the buildings whilst casting dark shadows in the Alley below, heralding the coming of the Night.
A special bond exists between mother and daughter.

A yellow-and-pink rose, water droplets glistening in the sun after a tropical downpour. This is one of my favorites, one of the first pictures I took that showed me I could take a beutiful picture too, not just a good one. I love the composition, the way the bend of the rose stem mirrors the climbing-lattice in the background seems like a virtual caress. This was taken in tropical Far North Queensland, Australia.
