this is another of my love paintings of a whimsical carefree girl standing in a field of flowers playing the violin Copyright © Amanda Cass All rights reserved my images may not be reproduced in any form without my written permission. the lovely and talented Catherine has been been kind enough to write a beautiful poem to go with this artwork :) link / The first is for dreams / the hope I hold onto / that swing me and move me / in a dance of timeless joy / and makes my vision clear to see The second is for love / in all it’s countless forms / a holding of hands, a tear, a smile / a touching of minds, a melting of hearts / a lightness of being that undo every trial The third is for courage / to say and do the absolute truth / for it makes my garden a sight to behold / gives me strength to undo the stones / that threatens to break down my mould The fourth is for movement / torwards where my soul might lead / and the conviction of following through / in all the moments of this beautiful life / ‘do good and it shall be done to you’ These are the strings / I want to compose my notes with / in every rise and fall of me / in whatever life might bring / I will fly, I will breath / and my song I will sing about 15 hours ago | Delete

Photographic based digital montage, 2007 (no 2 from series of 3 re-worked). Shot two seperate models & P/S combined them. I also draw in & enhanced part of the headpeice, the body, the dress, added a fringe to the face, hid the eyes, made the features more angular, blew up the lips, created cheekbones, reworked the branches, filtered wallpaper effects, extended the chandelier, added lacework/flower elements, desaturated the lot & added a sepia tone. Approximately 50 Photoshop layers.

This shot was taken in the Greek island of Lesvos in Autumn so the water was pretty cold. Thanks to the model Nelly for being so brave and enduring the cold conditions.

I retouched face, hair & recreated arched eyebrows for further definition; left eye was ‘opened’ up to match right eye (in the original shot she appears half asleep). Ingrid added b/w desaturated tone, painted lips, corset bodice lace & sheet in red tone. Original shot below.

Photographic based digital montage, 2007 (1 from series of 6 – redesigned from 2004/5 Japanese Series). Re-worked combining two from the series. I shot the tree, flowers & combined them in P/S with drawn elements & filtered the lot. Approximately 50 Photoshop layers. Generally I tire of my artwork yet still love this series to this day.

I originally intended this shot to be a picture of my son holding onto these balloons and taking off, floating into up into the sky … a fantasy, sotybook sort of image. However, my daughter immediately grabbed these balloons from him and started running off. So, as it turned out this eded up having a more realistic look than the one I originally intended, but I thought it turned out pretty cute with the desaturated colors throughout, except for the colorful balloons. Sold 2 laminated prints to RB Members.

I retouched the eyes (creating deepset cat eyed effect), enhanced lips, defined eyebrows, enhanced cheekbones, airbrushed face & lengthened body. Extended foreground of shot by retouching (the existing foreground) as it was taken tightly cropped to the foot. Added b/w desaturated tone & curve adjustment. Original shot below.

Photographic based digital montage – Feb, 2008. Created over several hrs…2 nights this week (suffering from concussion) from an accidental fall over the wk’end. Photoshop montage combining digital shots of jewels, scanned samples of vintage style wallpaper and added drawn elements. Fifty layers retouched, blended, filtered, colour & tonal curve adjusted. I’m considering using the design as a furniture (upholstering) velvety/suede fabric for a small round bedroom foot stool.
