  • Photographic based digital montage – 2007 (no 2 from series of 3 re-worked). Shot two seperate models & P/S combined them. I also draw in & enhanced part of the headpeice, the body, the dress, added a fringe to the face, hid the eyes, made the features more angular, blew up the lips, created cheekbones, reworked the branches, filtered wallpaper effects, extended the chandelier, added lacework/flower elements, desaturated the lot & added a sepia tone. Thank you to both models who wish to remain anonymous. Approximately 50 Photoshop layers. Just Sometimes (Song of Laughter and Forgetting) by Swervedriver – entered in Red Bubble ‘songmanip07 – Musical Photo Competition’. So many great entries. Regards to all for voting for this peice. • P/S Retouched by Ange in collaboration with Ingrid Sjodahl. Digital photograph shot by Greg Parsons in collaboration with Ingrid Sjodahl (2007). Raffles KvB ex-student of mine Ingrid graduated last year winning the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers, NSW Portfolio of the Year Award 2007…needless to say damn proud of her. Model: Liz. I retouched face, hair & recreated arched eyebrows for further definition; left eye was ‘opened’ up to match right eye (in the original shot she appears half asleep). Ingrid added b/w desaturated tone, painted lips, bodice lace & sheet in red tone. Original before shot image below.

  • Photographic based digital montage 2007 (1 from series of 6 – redesigned from 2004/5 Japanese Series). Re-worked combining two from the series. I shot the tree, flowers & combined them in P/S with drawn elements & filtered the lot. Approximately 50 Photoshop layers. Generally I tire of my artwork yet still love this series to this day. The lot 60×60cms are printed on canvas gracing the walls of my home.

I originally intended this shot to be a picture of my son holding onto these balloons and taking off, floating into up into the sky … a fantasy, sotybook sort of image. However, my daughter immediately grabbed these balloons from him and started running off. So, as it turned out this eded up having a more realistic look than the one I originally intended, but I thought it turned out pretty cute with the desaturated colors throughout, except for the colorful balloons. Sold 2 laminated prints to RB Members.

  • J.Y
    by Ange

P/S Retouched by Ange. Digital photograph shot by Jerry Kang in Surry Hills, Sydney (2007). Model: J.Y. I retouched the eyes (creating deepset cat eyed effect), enhanced lips, defined eyebrows, enhanced cheekbones, airbrushed face & lengthened body. Extended foreground of shot by retouching (the existing foreground) as it was taken tightly cropped to the foot. Added b/w desaturated tone & curve adjustment. Original before shot image below.

  • Foreign World
    by Stephanie Rachel Seely

    US$3.70–US$98.80

One of my first autobiographical pieces. My childhood seed / has finally bloomed / amid the tangled brambles of a forest / confused / by distorted shadows / and I struggle to push back / this oppressive canopy. / Here I stand on the banks / of a world that was once so beautiful. / In this frenzy of growing up / I had almost forgotten the untroubled sleep / of innocent dreams / and those moments laced with magic / only children are divine enough to recognize. / For a moment / I can only stand in the silence / and breathe the fragrant bliss / of absolute stillness. / For a moment / I know that the world I remember / was never really as magical / as wonderful / as I had once believed. / It was only the projection of naïveté / and make believe / but there / upon the horizon / I saw such a world / so far beyond my reach. / The burdens of age were forgotten / and fell away / and, for a moment / I was a child / again. Info for Sold! Group / Sold a small laminated print to an RB member. Poem Copyright /

  • Photographic based digital montage – Feb, 2008. Created over several hrs…2 nights this week (suffering from concussion) from an accidental fall over the wk’end. Photoshop montage combining digital shots of jewels, scanned samples of vintage style wallpaper and added drawn elements. Fifty layers retouched, blended, filtered, colour & tonal curve adjusted. I want to use the design as a furniture (upholstering) fine velvet/suede fabric for a small round bedroom foot stool. Nice to spend time on my own artwork. After work husband Dave & I pretty much spend all our spare time renovating/working on our 123 yr old victorian terrace…so a bump to the head stopping me in my tracks wasn’t such a bad thing after all.

  • Digital Photograph/Photoshop Composite 2007 Took the shot myself & it’s P/S retouched, airbrushed, colour oversaturated with a layer set of 10 different eye effects. Original before shot image below.

Travel for me is about stepping outside of my normal comfort zone. I have never thought about balloons. I’m not intensely afraid of heights or anything, but I don’t like the idea of having so much air between my feet and the ground. I would never have thought to try to arrange something like this at home, but when our guide suggested that this might be something the group would enjoy, most of us took advantage. The first morning in Luxor started out as dawn broke high above the city of Luxor and the Valley of the Kings….

  • P/S Retouched by Ange. Digital Photographs shot/styled by Alex Viscontini (2008). Model: Roberta. P/S combined two shots (originals below which lacked edge on their own) to create one finished image. Model wasn’t appropriate for the shoot making it difficult for Alex to achieve what he had in mind. I retouched/airbrushed face/body, emphasised eyes, arched eyebrows, closed lips & enlarged them, minimised jawline, lengthened body/legs, re-worked hair/background elements, changed overall body perspective & added a magenta selective colour layer adjustment.

  • Spend a dreamy day exploring your hearts’ desires and enjoying the pure innocence and care free delight of childhood.

  • Mika

My 14 year old agreed to do some modeling for me. She hates photos, hates the camera…so i was stoked when she agreed to go with us. So, we spent the afternoon @ different locations just taking different shots of her and her sisters..I now have over 100 images of her from today on my computer…The only other recent photos i have are her school photos, / She lives with my mother-her grandmother, and has done since she was approx 4 years old.. She lives just around the corner but we really don’t see her that much :( / She is a teenager, and is growing up and im sad to say i miss her. Thank you Mika for making the day extra special to me..it will be a day i remember for a long time, and now i have some images to go with the memories. I can only hope you like your photos…I love them!! / You are beautiful :) edited in photoshop. tracywallace.com

  • BOOK IS NOW PUBLISHED!!!! / She Sells Sea Cards by the Sea Shore / A short story by iAN Derrick with illustrations by Karin Taylor (me)!! Karin’s storefront iAN’s storefront This has been an amazing experience to be a part of….an enormous thank you to Matt Mawson who has tirelessly and generously worked over the past 2 days to bring this little book into being….. I could never have done it without you Matt! And of course a huge thank you to the amazing writer and friend of mine, one of those great Aussie characters that just keeps on keeping on, keeps on getting better with age…. that is iAN Derrick I first met iAN through a journal Matt wrote about one of iAN’s books, and since that day, we sorta hit it off….. I talked to iAN about my father and he also was inspired to write another short story called Understanding Harry and correct me if i’m wrong, but i think he may have been inspired to write a story that reflected some of the goings on with Matt’s four legged friend also. One day I got an email from the amazing iAN, saying although he thought my father should be the one to tell and publish his own stories, he’d had a little idea and brought it to life in Understanding Harry and not long after this i received a second email saying that he’d done it again, but i would have to wait til the morning when he loaded the story to red bubble, and he and I and hubby all savoured the moment….....waiting with baited breath, until upon waking in the morning two days ago, I was thrilled to discover this wonderful story had been written. A story about my characters…involved a certain Mrs T….but i will tell you no more, as it’s a must read…and you can read it over here She Sells Sea Cards by the Sea Shore Thank you iAN and Thank you Matt i am eternally grateful / for all my friends :) and those who are new to red bubble or haven’t crossed paths with me before ….. a hearty welcome to my part of this big bubbly place!
