  • my name is Grace.
    by TREVOR IRWIN

    US$5.13–US$136.80

Please Visit: / http://www.philadelphia33.org/ 100% of all your money goes towards the care of extreme rural families in Rural Isolated Villages in Africa. As I spend much time living with the Kambari tride, I get to know first hand the challanges they face each day just to survive. I also have the privilege of capturing not only hunger, sickness and often death, but the more happy occassions. This is Grace, and when I first met Grace in April 2007, she was suffering from Chronic Malnutrition. This was taken in December 2007, and the difference is wonderful. We as a Charity depend on People like yourself, who donate time in Prayer and Finance to help us provide help and support for Grace and many others like her. I thank you all so much for your help. Without those who give towards the Mission, we just could not do it. Please Visit: http://www.philadelphia33.org/ As is:

  • Imagine if this child could swap places with those on the other side of the wall. Even for a day. Imagine what he might find, what he might lose, what he might think. Imagine what he might do with his new-found privilege. Imagine. I imagine that’s what he’s imagining. The possibilities are endless.

  • This is a compilation I have done with Rebecca Zachariah after our trip to Rwanda. In a nation of shattered souls post genocide, hope remains in the form of new life. These people have witnessed death on massive scale. You can see how precious they consider life from this shot. ALL PROCEEDS TO HEAL AFRICA HEAL Africa calendar available now!!! • This woman is a victim of a seemingly never ending war in southern congo. She has suffered sexual violence (rape) so severe it has rendered her incontinent. She now exists purely as a result of a courageous charity called Heal Africa, and indeed her own inner strength and faith. I asked her if I could take her portrait and she stood up (which must have been painful), straightened her back and stared straight down the lens. No stopping to straighten her scarf, no preening, no fear. Just an honesty so raw, so uninhibited and so rare, I caught my breath and thought I’d never breath again. I was totally overpowered by her intensity. After I took the shot and showed it to her she smiled and thanked me. It still gives me a shiver to look at it now. HEAL Africa calendar available now!!! • I was in northern Rwanda in April 2007 as a volunteer with an aid group and we had stopped to talk with people at a local church. The town was Rhuengeri, it sits close to the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo and has the unfortunate reputation as having been home to a number of those who perpetrated the horrific genocide of 1994. / The atmosphere in Rwanda is one of pervading ‘brokeness.’ Millions of orphans live side by side with those who tortured and massacred their families 14 few, short years ago. Millions more suffer the newer enemy – HIV Aids and countless others wander ghost like in a state it seems of perpetual shock, haunted by the past and overwhelmed by the concept of a future. / This was April. The official month of mourning. When people publicly face what privately never leaves them. / I was sitting on a step tired and desperate for fresh air when I looked into the crowd that inevitably gathered wherever we were. / This woman, is by my guess perhaps 30 and she is as are most, dirt poor. / I was absolutely transfixed by her and her child. / She seemed to me to sum up so much of what I saw. / Love and desperation and yes, compassion. / Her breast is bone dry and cracked and yet she tries to feed her baby. Perhaps it is the hope inherent in the action which feeds her. / At the same time, she looks totally preoccupied by her struggle for survival. / What is she thinking as she gazes into the middle ground? / My thought is, ‘where is the next meal.’ Where will she get it from? How will she share it? And upon finishing it, where will she find the next one? / I was overwhelmed by seeing the reality of those who live literally from hour to hour, day after exhausting day. / It confronted me then. / It continues to confront me now. / – Dog photography – Africa photography / - Beach photography - Black & white photography – Dog photography – Africa photography / - Beach photography - Monotone photography

  • 'Moment' Rwanda, Africa.
    by Melinda Kerr

    US$3.99–US$106.40

Sitting, waiting for the others in a church in Northern Rwanda, my eyes wandered, taking in the room. To tell the truth I was tired and bored and in need of a day off. Over the other side of the room sat this young man, alone. I’m not sure what he was doing there. Waiting for his Mother maybe? I wondered, should I take a shot? If he saw me it could be really uncomfortable. I mean I was really close and I couldn’t pretend I was photographing anyone else. Anyway I thought, ‘I’ll sneak a shot in.’ So, I raised the camera and started to muck around with the shot. And then he looked up. I cringed behind the lens and just sat there, frozen. He didn’t divert his gaze. For several seconds we stared at each other me on one side of the camera, him on the other. Finally I pressed the shutter. His expression remained exactly the same. I lowered the camera and returned his stare, this time with no mechanical device between us. It sounds corny but something travelled between us. An absolute realisation that we were right there, in the same place at the same time. He didn’t dismiss me or put me down. He stood right on the same level. It was unique.

  • Imagine if this child could swap places with us? / Even for a day. / Imagine what he might find, what he might lose, what he might think. / Imagine what he might do with his new-found privilege. / Imagine. / I imagine that’s what he’s imagining. / The possibilities are endless. Also available as a Christmas card – Full size. /

  • This shot is one of my favourites because it tells such a story. In the forground is a wallet being held by one of my colleagues Bart. He is buying the basket being held by the Rwandan woman in the middle of the shot. All eyes are on the transaction. This represents life and death in Africa as much as any other portrait. It is positive, but you can also feel the tension, the need, the hope. All proceeds to charity. I might even buy this myself. – Dog photography – Africa photography / - Beach photography - Black & white photography – Dog photography – Africa photography / - Beach photography - Monotone photography

  • YOU CAN REALLY CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Please visit: / http://www.philadelphia33.org/ After much prayer I have decided to show this photograph of Little Noel. I know some of the images I have shared with you all at Redbubble can be disturbing and I did not want to overload to many images. But this is one child I will never forget. I had just finished preaching in a remote village and the Prayer line had closed and the meeting was closed. But Noel’s Older brother came from the very back and carried Noel to me. he was dying from Intestinial worms and had a terrible open wound on his left leg. We prayed, adn as I was Praying Noel took his last breath and went home to be with Jesus. The thing that broke my heart is that Noel’s life could have been saved, if we had the money for medicine. many Like Noel can be saved. PLEASE Help US. We need to raise $1800 to buy medicines that can treat these sick children. I am returning to te villages on 9th October. We have the money for four water pumps adn Filters. this will stop the Intestinial worms from entering their bodies. but the benifits wont help those with intestinial worms now. So we need to treat them before they die. Beloved, i know you will pray for me and the children. Please do what you can. Thats all the Lord expects from any of us. Together We can make a real difference. God bless you in your efforts. Please visit / http://www.philadelphia33.org/

  • Nile fishermen.
    by TREVOR IRWIN

    US$5.13–US$136.80

Please visit Charity website: http://www.philadelphia33.org/ 100% of all money raised from sale ofall my art goes toward the extreme poor in isolated villages in Africa. I will never forget taking this photograph, as I was standing waiting for the ferry to come. Anyone who has been to rural Africa will know that things runs on African time. That’s why I call them Last minute.com. After three hours, these two guys came to me and said the ferry Had broke down on the other side, and that they would take me accross. So I got in, with all my camera equipment and a very wet Interpreter, who fell into the water. / One the way accross I suddenly realised that the large boat coming straight towards us was the Ferry. It was so funny. The fishermen refused to take any payment, as they said it would bring good fortune to the, as they had a white man in their boat. they both recieved Jesus as Lord and Saviour. It was really a blessed boat trip. visit: / http://www.philadelphia33.org/

  • To Much - To little
    by TREVOR IRWIN

    US$5.13–US$136.80

Please visit: http://www.philadelphia33.org/ This is a Collaboration Between Digitaldrool, a extremely talented Digital Media Artist, and Myself. I took the original photo of the boy in rural Nigerian Village. Digitaldrool made art that speaks out loud about the gap between the rich and the extreme poor. In the rich western countries, If you don’t have a Large TV, Sony Playstaion and other digital elictronic games, we think we are not well off. If we don’t own our home, or cannot afford a car, nice cloths and big name brand shoes, we think we are poor. If we cannot affor a annual vecation we think we are poor. In UK we get free healthcare, Money if we don’t work, and there is a host of care organisations. / But in rural and isolated villages in Africa, poor means something different. Little or No Food, very little clean water or Polluted water, No cloths, No electric, No healtcare and no hope, is wat poor is. I give God thanks each day for a tap that gives me clean water, and plenty of food. It is my mission to not only share the good news contained in the word of God, but also to meet the needs of the poor, and demonstrate God great love to the people. Please feel free to Join me and the Work of God in The isolated villages of Africa. Visit our Charity website for information, Video clips and Photograph’s. http://www.philadelphia33.org/ Please visit a great Artist at: / http://www.redbubble.com/people/digitaldrool.

  • Please visit my Africa Mission Charity Website: / http://www.philadelphia33.org/ / / I was walking from one village to the next, in Remote Nigeria. one of the team noticed this young girl following us for some time. I stopped and spoke to her through an interpretor. We learned that she was 13 years old and caring for three younger Sisters. As she told us here story, I Felt compelled to return to her village. There we met her three younger sisters in the most extreme poverty. Both Parents were dead and no other living relatives. We spoke to the village Chief and the elders who pleaded with us to help the family. We did, as God lead us to and blessed here with clothing, and the following day we sent two of our field workers to meet with her and now they have a small regular income from our mission funds. Please visit my Africa Mission charity site: / http://www.philadelphia33.org/ / link to all my art. / http://www.redbubble.com/people/joshuatree1 Your Purchasing of the previous photographs and donations via our website has truly enabled us to help many on this mission.
