Eye has not seen nor ear heard what God has prepared for those who love him. 1 Corinthians 2:9 This male painted bunting is a wonder of creation, a gift God has prepared for our edification and enjoyment!
This is another view from my sister’s farm. Living in the city, I always enjoy the opportunity to visit and behold the glory of God’s creation. / /

This is a shot that I have reworked from last summer so it is more suitable as a card. It’s of two Dahlias against black velvet. I have tried to depict the flowers as two people who have had their differences, hence being back to back, does this work for you?? Thanks for looking, regards, Nick

The Butterfly A man found a cocoon of a butterfly / One day a small opening appeared / He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours / It struggled to force its body through that little hole / Then it seemed to stop making any progress / It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could / And it could go no farther. So the man decided to help the butterfly / He took a pair of scissors and snipped off / The remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily, BUT, / It had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings / He continued to watch the butterfly / He expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge / And the body would contract / Neither happened! / In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling / Around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. / It was never able to fly. The man acted with well-intentioned kindness / But he didn’t understand the consequences. / The restricting cocoon and the struggle required to get / Through the tiny opening, were nature’s way of forcing fluid / From the body of the butterfly once it achieved it’s freedom / From the cocoon. Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. / If nature allowed us to go through life without any / Obstacles, it would cripple us. / We would not be as strong as we could have been / And we could never fly / Have a great day, great life, and struggle a little. / Then fly! by the famous Greek writer/philosopher Nikos Kazantzakis. This is a favorite saying of mine and so I combined it with a picture of storm clouds that I had taken. / / in IMAGE WRITING GROUP / in Color me a Rainbow group This saying is close to my heart as I have gone through difficult times with my health and prayed and hoped that the illness would leave and my health mentally and physically would return…. but it was not to be so I changed the way I was praying and instead asked for strength to continue on despite the challenges I faced and have felt many times that I was held in God’s loving arms as I faced difficult days ! So this means a lot to me to have this featured !! Thanks !! / Just like the saying in the picture, I have found that while having a painful or difficult time in my life, my first thought and wish is for it to be taken away and sometimes it is, but sometimes I have to see the storm through and I have been able to do that within the loving arms of my Heavenly Father or God and with His strength I can do all things As I have learned and grown through my experiences, I have gained wisdom and compassion. I then can be there to help someone else who is going through a “storm” of their own and help them know where to look for comfort and love and strength.
Things happen to us and to those we love, that have a way of reminding us our time here is limited. Some of us also lose crucial physical abilities, which we normally take for granted by assuming “they” will always be there to accompany us to the end of our individual roads. / Each day must therefore be appreciated…and lived as fully as possible without fear. Being grateful for what we have, ...what we still have…is the key to a positive attitude and joyous state of being… no matter what comes at us.
Love and go on David Harkins
